The proliferation of characters can be disorienting and super-Bibb is criminally underused, but “Jupiter’s Legacy” works for the most part if your idea of entertainment leans that way. Glittering costumes, eyes that shoot laser beams, explosions and destruction galore. That’s entertainment circa 2021.
It’s all engaging enough, but a certain airlessness constrains the entertainment value. ... The problem is that it comes perilously close to taking itself too seriously. Any opportunity for fun is shut down by perpetually morose teens, action set-pieces we have seen many times before and clunky speeches about the state of the world.

This show is awesome! I love how they make these superheroes struggle with their decisions of when it is acceptable to take a life. Is it okay to take a life to save another life? Or do you allow a life to be taken by someone else as long as it is not taken by your own hands. I love how gruesome and mature the content is compared to other superheroes stories and how flawed many of these characters are portrayed much like nearly all humans. There is so much depth with these characters but so little time spent on their development for a few of them. Overall, it is an amazing show and I hope that they figure out a way to get the rest of the story out despite Netflix cancelling the show.

For a series about superheroes, Jupiter's Legacy moves in what feels like slow motion. The result is a Netflix drama that's impressive in its scope -- adding to the growing roster of dark comic-book tales -- but frustrating in its sluggish pacing, oscillating between twin timelines over the course of its eight initial episodes.
This series might have felt revolutionary nearly a decade ago (when the comic series was originally published), but today it just treads on tired and well-worn territory.
Ultimately, it's not much of anything beyond a slowly unreeling plot played out by thinly realized characters sometimes accompanied by some decently realized special effects.
While it’s a valiant try at starting a new superhero franchise, Jupiter’s Legacy can’t wrangle its sprawling mythology well enough to make a coherent and cohesive first episode.
It is a stultifying mess of a show on pretty much every level. It’s meant to be viewed with utmost seriousness, yet it feels like a parody where someone forgot to insert the jokes.
Great character development, special effects are ok not great but the storyline is amazing.

They killed the coolest character for shock value. The main char, Utopian is the dumbest **** thing I have seen. Want to watch superman cry about how America is turning from Capitalism? This is the show for you! They ride on politics too much and family drama which seems super thin. There are like three fight scenes. Was it bad? No but it wasn't anything to tell your friends about. But I do want a season two, with a better director. Also, we need Zack Snyder to make the Snyderverse.

Terribly liberal in it's politics, but despite that the acting and sets are fantastic. It fails however to say anything real or new, bringing nothing serious to the genre of ****. The liberalism really bleeds through the plot, with none of the main cast taking their powers seriously, or their role in the world as anything more than actors on a stage of good vs evil. Unfortunately the worldview of the writers makes the motivations of the characters not just shallow, but entirely incoherent. Enjoyable to watch, but don't expect to get anything out of it.

I thought this show would take place through many periods in history but it's basically Lost with only flashbacks to the 1930s. Unlike, Lost, however all characters are unlikable and miserable. Everyone is fighting with everyone else. The story plods on to the obvious big reveal in the final episodes, but I stopped caring halfway through episode 7, quit, and never looked back.
