Little Birds is a series that honours [Nin's stories] and their spirit, adding even more to them and making them resonate anew.
It’s unclear exactly which characters to focus on and what their motives are, and tonally the show is confused.
By its midpoint, the series’ sensuality flags, replaced by more straightforward dramatic dilemmas and espionage machinations that lack the preceding passages’ oomph.
Little Birds just tries to do too much, leading to an unfocused and hard-to-watch first episode.
Beyond the lush aesthetics – themselves a kind of voyeurism after months of staring at the same interiors during lockdown – it’s hard to work out what the point of it all is.
