Well, according to me... I think that the show Once upon a time is the best series I have ever watched! Yes, it has Disney characters in it and they do it a little different but that’s what makes it exciting and spontaneous! I think the actors and actresses are very good at their jobs and all played an excellent role when they are on... I think that they all have a special connection which I would like to have with a group of friends one day. I would also like to say they have made a lot of fans happy and especially me because it would be a dream come to true to meet all the cast from Once upon a time! My favourite character would be Lana Parrilla/ Regina Mills: The evil queen. I like the way she plays in the series because after she was evil she became loving and caring for those who want her to be and she did an excellent job doing it, she can show other villains that you don’t always have to look for revenge, you have to have love and kindness in your heart which really makes the fans feel loved. I would be honoured to meet everyone from Once upon a time and be able to get to know them through themselves and not their characters, I love all their characters, and it would be nice to see how they are through themselves and what they have been through together when creating these series. I have seen on YouTube that they have an excellent time making these episodes and have a lot of fun doing that and I would love to watch how they do it and what their experience of doing it is. Anyway I’m not going to ramble on but I just want to say Thankyou for bringing this series out, it has changed my life for the good... and I would love to meet all of the cast from Once upon a time (especially Lana Parrilla) I cant say how much I love all of you and so proud of what you have achieved! Congratulations to everyone that is one this series, you all make me proud and I’m one lucky girl to have watched it and I will continue to watch it as it is my favourite series to watch on Tv. Well done! Loads of love, Elle xx (biggest ever fan
In its premiere episode, Once Upon a Time offers a mix of hope and cynicism, coupled with familiar television and film allusions (not unlike the Shreks).
Horowitz and Kitsis are clever and playful in how they insert the fairytale characters into the present day, which kept my interest even when, as I said earlier, I was chuckling.
No other new show this fall is attempting to tell a bigger story, and we're hoping the rough patches smooth out and it fulfills the potential that's there in its very strong cast and premise.
The larger problem, though, is that unless you're deeply invested in the fairy tale characters and seeing the variations on their familiar backstories--seeing, for instance, that Snow and Charming had a very different first meeting than the one we know about--then most of the story and character work is flat, despite a cast of likable, game actors.
To draw out the story by looping it through subplots and minidramas runs the risk of turning it into a fairy-tale soap opera--when what we really want to know is whether the tragic Snow White or the lonely Emma can in the end live happily ever after.
The show was good in its earlier seasons, and after season 2, it was completely trash. A show with writers who can’t come up with their own characters and story arcs and use others (like Disney) is not worth watching
