When [J.W. Montgomery] breaks a bone in his wrist, and the team doctor orders immediate surgery, coach Dewaine Lee asks, “Can’t it wait till the end of the season?” A viewer, perhaps guiltily, will want to know, too, so engaging is the series. In between the games, the personal stories roll out.
Influences and templates aside, there's enough different here to make Texas 6 an easy watch, especially with some episodes barely running over 30 minutes.
