    I were very sceptic regarding this show, as I absolutely love the video game.
    However, after seeing the Pilot episode, I'm overwhelmed.
    There are enough new scenes and changes to make the show interesting and fresh, even thou I know the game inside and out, but at the same time keeping everything that was important the first 2-3 hours from the game. If this is the quality we'll see    I were very sceptic regarding this show, as I absolutely love the video game.
    However, after seeing the Pilot episode, I'm overwhelmed.
    There are enough new scenes and changes to make the show interesting and fresh, even thou I know the game inside and out, but at the same time keeping everything that was important the first 2-3 hours from the game.
    If this is the quality we'll see through the 9 episodes, I'm certain this might become one of my top tv-shows ever seen.

    10/10 without hesitations and I'm thankful it proved me wrong.    … Expand

    "This is Cinema" - Martin Scorsese. What a riveting and exhilarating start to a show of my favourite video game of all time. I do have some minor gripes with it, however; some changes from the games were made for the worse and are less compelling than they are in the game, but it could be too early to tell.     The most incredible adaptation of a video game in the history, simply amazing this series goes to be the best on the TV this year without a doubt just amazing I can't describe my feelings about this thanks to hbo by do this the people we need more of this amazing things in our lives.

    I did not play the game, waiting for it to come to PC on march. There are a lot of comments regarding the "wokeness" level of the series. I dislike gender politics and woke culture but I haven't seen it in this one, at least not in the first episode. Women are supposed to be tougher in a post apocalyptic world, that's fine, we don't have the stereotypical teenager girl superhero that beatsI did not play the game, waiting for it to come to PC on march. Regarding skin color of the cast, it's expected to have race differences in a modern country in the present time, is not like hiring black elves just to follow the woke agenda of the writers that are perfectly aware that ethnicity of elves is white. The only performer I didn't like was Ellie, overexaggerated reactions and a constant stupid attitude that would get you killed on an instant. She acts as a spoiled girl that got upset because the car she got for her birthday has a color she doesn't like. A teenager with that attitude couldn't have survived in a world like that. I read an article from Ashley Ashton where she said she was excited to portray Ellie as she felt that video games rarely feature such strong female characters. Obviously knows nothing about games and has some lefty woke ideas that could ruin the show if they get to the director, fingers cross they won't.… Expand

    Very good start(i will update the score after every episode of needed) the acting was great. Didn't hit as hard as the game but that might be because i knew what was going to happen. Still a really promising start and hasn't wait to watch the rest of the season.

    Ótimo episódio piloto. Excelente casting, efeitos visuais, banda sonora e produção. A melhor adaptação de um videojogo alguma vez feita (para fãs do jogo ou para novatos). Espero que a qualidade se mantenha ao longo da temporada.

    I think it laughable that all the worst reviews in this are because Sarah isn't white.. I'm no means woke, but get it together with your BS.. So far Episode 1 has been good.

    Different in places from the game we all adore, but it works well and I appreciate the longer run time very much, its good to see a production company not cram as much as they can in to 48 minutes every episode.

    Huge fan of the game (Part1).. I enjoyed the first episode, not a banger, but good. Stayed pretty close to source material, nothing egregious so far. Liked Pedro more than I thought I would as Joel, but something about Ellie just isn’t hitting right. Hopefully my opinion on that changes with a few more episodes. 8/10 so far!

    I mean I love the games...really, one of my favorites of all time....this Series is top class. I love the cast, a little bit different but you still feel "home", I like those little additions to the game, this brighter view on the whole thing. Just the beginning is awesome in this talk show, gives you goosebumps already when you know what will happen.     It seems that we are in a golden age for videogame adaptations, just like Arcane and Edgerunners, i think that this show (at least episode 1) faithfully captures the essence of the original game while improving some stuff. I consider that the virus is a lot more interesting here than in the original game, and a lot scarier to. The actors are fantastic. People who throw tantrums because of Joel's beard or Ellie's appearance are not normal.     Obvious reservations in the beginning when it was very first announced. Then when I saw the collaboration between hbo and naughty dog, spirits lifted, seeing the cast completely put my mind at ease. What a result. The show is so well 0ut together, some nice little touches of its own, very promising start!

    HBO has managed to nail the essence and it has been made into a great TV series.

    I plan to watch this again in 4K, episode 1 is very well made.

    This is precisely how I pictured an adaptation of the game. It's going to be one hell of a ride! And be prepared for surprises because the first episode showed us more of the world, and the story went differently in some parts. All in all, this could finally be the first good video game adaptation in history.

    If you've played the game or just watched the stitched-up movie, cut scenes. I'll tell you this much, the father and daughter moment in the beginning where Joel becomes Joel was shot for shot from the game! That moment made me cry again, it was just like the first time I saw it from the movie game cut scenes. I was speechless throughout most of the whole episode. The race swaps were fine,If you've played the game or just watched the stitched-up movie, cut scenes. I'll tell you this much, the father and daughter moment in the beginning where Joel becomes Joel was shot for shot from the game! That moment made me cry again, it was just like the first time I saw it from the movie game cut scenes. I was speechless throughout most of the whole episode.     Let's start with the most divisive: Best of the Series: Bella Ramsey. This is beyond dispute. Not real Ellie.

    Much more than that.

    Already in the first part, he deepens and conveys the character in such a way that there is no scene where we don't get goosebumps from the bone-shaking performance of the now still real butt-head teenager.

    Regardless, there will surely be people who will be shocked by what they already knew: he is not a baby face, but it is not that you cannot say a bad word about his game, it is as visceral as if he had just jumped out of the game. What a miracle he does with the character.

    Joel is awesome too.

    Pedro plays Joel with perfect style and voice.

    His game is unquestionable. The mood is largely given by his broken, tormented, but strong features. Just like in the first part of the game. And he does this without any clichés.

    This is what I dare to say that a mannered Buttler or Jackman would not have been able to do.

    Pedro is at the top and here he proves that he is not without merit.

    What was even more surprising: Gabriel Luna.

    This dude does Tomm's voice like he's the original one, from the game! For real!

    His performance rivals that of Pedro. He really caught the thread and is an incredibly lovable character.

    For me, he became the most likable.

    Marlene give exactly what she's do in the game. Nothing special. Just professionalism. It can be seen that: she already know this inside and out.

    Was there anything I didn't like? Yes.

    Just a few things. But it was.

    Robert's character, for example, was like that.

    But I can't say more without spoilers.

    The story expands/changes just as much as it adds and makes it easier to understand the contexts.

    Even the opening scene is like this, and I guarantee: everyone will be shaking from the cold right there!

    The arrangement is flawless. You can feel the Craig Mazin effect in every frame. Cuts and photography enhance the atmosphere. The dialogues and chemistry work
    One thing is certain: there is no idling. No stopping. No fluff.
    There is Last of Us. Pure Last of us. With lots of accurately translated sentences, pictures, and actions. With vibrating characters. Apothecary mode with working action scenes, raw power and emotions, in a scene and universe composed to perfection. For an hour and a half, it takes even those who have never played the game out of reality. Subjective opinion. Give it a shot! It deserves it. If nothing else, because of the work and creativity involved and because it will definitely be a historical piece, just like the game. It's such a good adaptation, I can confidently say: It's never been made before. Surley liked it! Thank you for this experience!    … Expand

    Watched the entire first season, with my brother who reviewed it, and as a huge fan of the game, this is easily the best adaptation ever, and it’s also just a fantastic tv drama, episode 3 with bill and frank is one of the best episodes of tv ever, and nick and Murray will be easily getting all the awards for that.

I only found the scene where they were caught by the Fedra agent at the end a little weird. But I think that was possibly synonymous s.der Camera Perspective. otherwise everything was exceptionally good. the acting performances, the sets, the infected ones shown so far everything is consistent and accurate.     I’m so in love with this story that it is difficult to imagine what a viewer without my emotional investment would think. But I find it difficult to believe that they too wouldn’t soon be utterly enthralled in Joel and Ellie’s story which is faithfully and skillfully reproduced here.

    Cuando leí que la serie tomaría nuevos y ligeros rumbos para contar a más detalles cosas que no se vieron en el videojuego y a su vez esta adaptación tuviera aires frescos para tanto los seguidores de la franquicia como los nuevos que iban a llegar, llegué a sentir algo de desconfianza y preocupación, un lado de mi decía que esto iba a ser una mala idea pero por el otro lado me gustaba, pues pensaba que si seguía el mismo rumbo terminaría sintiéndose un copia y pega.
    Hace unos momentos terminé el primer episodio y ha cumplido mis expectativas, tanto el entorno, las tomas, planos, las actuaciones y el ritmo que lleva todo en conjunto es una maldita maravilla, de lo que se ha visto por parte de Pedro Pascal y Bella Ramsey nos aseguran que tienen bajo control sus respectivos papeles, no hubo mejor elección.     Really good show, great acting, writing, production and direction! I was almost burned out on zombie stuff but I went ahead and forced myself to watch this and WOW! First four episodes are fantastic. I know the second game was really controversial and I didn't play it so we'll see how season 2 goes but so far season 1 makes for excellent television. I love the actor who plays Ellie, she's so good!

    This series challenges us to really think of what it means to live in a post apocalyptic world in terms of who is a villain and superhero. It picks up a theme from Station11 which is that there’s more to life than just surviving

    Amazing Show, Needs More Infected and for those looking for gameplay connections shouldn't expect too much from a show from creators who believe "Love supersede's Logic" in a very emotional journey. Like most long format story telling, it always feels 2-3 episodes long. Pacing was solid for many episodes and perhaps they can fix this in season 2 with more Clickers to get those Clicks

    Show started out a 10/10 but after episode 5 there were a grand total of 2 zombies for the last four episodes and it was rushed for episodes 8&9.

    Playing the game through multiple times and now watching it come to life on HBO I can definitively say this is the best Zombie/Survival Horror show or movie ever! Thank you HBO!

    Ignore the MASSIVE amount of homophobic small brained mouth breathers review bombing due to their insecurities. This episode was amazing. Acting was fantastic and really gave Joel and Ellie a great moral starting point with Bills last letter.

    Love it all the haters need to get over themselves and stop watching if they're going to get triggered over characters that have always been gay. So many people are showing how little they paid attention to the game by getting mad about Bill, boy are they gonna get mad if they when they find out about Ellie, or other characters from Last of us 2. Stay mad nerds.

    Its been a while since I have cried due to a tv show and this show keeps getting me there with its amazing acting. I haven't played the games but I thought I knew what to expect. I was was thoroughly surprised at how invested I got in characters after only one episode. I don't have a single complaint.     Loving the original game, and not being a fan of TV adaptations, I came to this show with low expectations, but boy was I wrong... The show does a great job of taking the most interesting action pieces of the game, and turning them around to fit the TV pacing.     Everything a smart videogame's fan wanted to see, his/her favorite game becoming a really good TV or cinema adaptation. This series goes beyond the game, deeper and deeper into the Story and into spectator's emotions. Superb cast doing a wonderfull work with characters that deserves no less.

    Despite this, performances from Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay deliver crackling chemistry that goes a long way to smoothing out the cracks. Backed with superb creature design and a gorgeous soundtrack, The Last of Us: Season 1 is a TV event you do not want to miss.

    This show is doubtlessly awesome and impeccable and i believe fans should stop hating on it just because it went beyond the lore-imposed borders. What’s the point in watching a brand-new SHOW simply BASED on the original game if you resent every alteration made? If u feel like it, go youtube/the_last_of_us_game_playthrough and don’t spoil it for the adequate ones. Thanks.

    It's an excellent show and the casting is great. Ignore any review that mentions "woke". It's a sure fire sign that the reviewer is an idiot. Sad little white men, furious that they're not allowed to look down on everyone else anymore.

    A sensational adaptation. True fans of the game will love it, and those unfamiliar with the game will have no problem following along. Brilliant casting, direction, and writing, and as a bonus it somehow seems to have upset the incels – fantastic.

    The Last of Us takes up the mantle The Walking Dead set down long before it left the air, picking up where that show left off instead of attempting to trod its well-worn path. ... The Last of Us operates entirely differently, keeping the action centered on Joel and Ellie throughout the main story, and providing side characters with flashback spin-offs. We get to appreciate these side characters, and even become greatly endeared to them, but within the confines of their own story.

    The show’s rough-hewn center is the surrogate father-daughter bond between Joel and Ellie, but the series works best as an anthropological travelogue of post-catastrophe subcultures, teasing out the disparate ways that survivors rebuild mini-societies and create new alignments of power.
