This show has always been on the edge of mediocrity: I will remember the excellent acting of a few actors (actors playing double agent Joe, Major John Smith and the Japanese minister of commerce, the Man in the High Castle himself), some tantalizing story lines (John Smith's existential dilemma) and great decors and world building. On the other hand, the show was bloated with inane stories such as the Black Communist Revolution, Smith's wife neurosis and Inspector Kido. The Japanese story line was by far the weaker element, especially in the last season.
When compared with the French classic "Army of shadows", the whole Resistance movement seemed very simplisitic and unrealistic, in short, very "Hollywoodian" and a waste of great sets.
