Vampire Academy is a must-watch for anyone tempted by the idea of a world of vampires touched by magic, flush with forbidden romance, and filled with vast potential.
It’s fresh, it’s smart, it’s a hell of a lot of fun, and it’s absolutely worth sinking your teeth into.

Most of the audience reviews here are dated the first week the show came out. Difficult to review a show when you have only seen 4 episodes. I think the bad reviews are fans of the books that are salty they do not stick to the book plots.
This is definitely one that grows on you. Mysteries abound: the evil Strigoi, previously thought as mindless beasts focused only on feeding, seem to be planning/coordinating. What do they want?

SEASON 1
Vampire Academy remains entertaining due to its fast pace, noteworthy female leads, and twisty second half.
The show seems to want to have it both ways: to suck you into its sprawling world, with its endlessly complicated lore, while hand-waving over the world’s basic details. There are worse problems for a series to have than a surplus of storylines and ideas, and Vampire Academy‘s excess does often make for a tasty binge. It’s just not always a totally satisfying one.
Ends up intriguing enough, if also unavoidably cheesy in its attempts to stand out amongst the fray.
While there’s nothing truly terrible about Vampire Academy, there’s little about it that stands out amid today’s crop of fantastical YA dramas.
The result is a total – and entirely unoriginal – mess. Literally nothing about this show is coherent in any way. At times, it is impossible to follow, hurtling through the action and chucking about terminology we are yet to grasp; at others, it drags and is downright boring.
Loved the books, hate how racists black-washed the show. Ruined the writing and cultural setting.
Knew it was going to be bad with the casting so I wasn't too surprised when I dropped it after 3 episode. The writing was just as bad. Total trash.

Bad acting. No chemistry between main characters. Stunts are unrealistic. Outfits are all over the place (what century is this meant to be in?). CGI is horrible. Overall, it just seems cheap.
