Here we have a stylish and original horror adventure, which manages to scare. The ending is quite thought-provoking. The game is quite short, but the time spent on it is definitely quality time. [Aug 2014]
The game is kinda short but the concept and creative level designs are the pros. If you want to play a different horror game then you'll love Among the Sleep.

The revelatory finale will leave you winded, but also heartened by Krillbite’s assertion that firstperson horror needn’t be confined by crumbling walls and straitjackets.
Among the Sleep is a distinctive and promising first game from new Norwegian studio Krillbite, and though the dreams it conjures might be scary, it ultimately leaves you with the feeling that you're strong enough to face your fears, in dreams or otherwise.
The ideas are great, its execution not. It's still worthwhile, given the original protagonist and a deeper meaning woven into the concept but it fails to reach higher marks. [Issue#244]
Among the Sleep succeeds at being a creepy baby simulator, but the real monster turns out to be boring, buggy puzzles and a shallow world and story.
That's what's most disappointing; there's absolutely the spark of a really cool whatever-this-genre-is game in Among the Sleep, and for a while it looks like it's going to get there. Too bad it ends barely a quarter of the way in, passing the baton to something both much less interesting and perpetually trapped in its shadow.

Among the sleep is a nice little horror game with a cool concept and great immersion. Though it isn't diverse in mechanics or locations, the game is short enough that it all stay fun and interesting throughout. The story has some nice developments and a bit of a twist that makes it enjoyable to think about as you play. I also like that I don';t think I ever failed, the game keeps the tension up without repeatedly killing the player like other games in its class. The sound is good, and the graphics have a nice touch to them. Overall a solid horror experience especially if you get it on sale.

For an indie game this isn't bad, and maybe it is even worth the $10 or $15, but it just wasn't worth my time. The graphics are good for a cheap production, and it is a little eerie for the first 30 minutes, but once the game really starts it just looks too colorful and bubbly to be scary, and the teddy bear is just annoying. There are hardly any real puzzles and he pretty much tells you what you need to do for all of them. It isn't hard to figure out what exactly is going on in the game. The ending was no surprise, and in fact it felt very cheap and tacked-on compared to how I imagined it ending. I thought it would be much more compelling.
A far better game (in story, graphics and game play) along the same lines thematically is Papo & Yo.
But if you're looking for a creepy horror experience with pretty much the same level of "puzzles" as this game (i.e. nonexistent), Outlast is a far better option. This is more of a horror game for an 8-year-old.
I must say I did enjoy the first-person view much more than usually being able to see arms and legs. But Outlast has that too and also does that many times better.
It is a novel concept, but it just doesn't have the story or game play to back it up.
