We haven’t quite been waiting 100 years for an Avatar game that lives up to the potential of the show, but it’s certainly beginning to feel that way after playing Avatar: The Last Airbender - Quest for Balance. This half-baked and wildly inconsistent retelling of the excellent TV series shows the promise of what an Avatar game could maybe be, but a baffling choice of which scenes to highlight, a clunky camera and combat, hilarious balance problems, and an overreliance on middling block puzzles and boring fetch quests leaves our search for the real Avatar still desperately out of luck. With more Avatar shows and movies on the way, it’s just downright odd how Quest for Balance has managed to arrive at this point in time as both an unsatisfying entry point for newcomers and a poor way to revisit it for dedicated fans.
Avatar: The Last Airbender - Quest for Balance feels like an incomplete port of a mobile game that was retextured. It definitely isn’t worth £39.99 and I wouldn’t recommend it even if it was free.
Even though the graphics are complained about a lot, it’s just the art style and tells a great representation of the original show and is very good game
Just finished the game a few days ago and I have to say that I enjoyed it. It's definitely balanced for a younger audience than me, but the majority of puzzles were challenging enough to provide a satisfying experience. Some boss fights, like Hei Bai's or the final encounter with Azula, were challenging enough, while other boss fights definitely felt repetitive. But I think they tried to stay as faithful as possible to the narrative of the series. I played local co-op for a few hours with my 9-year-old nephew, who is a fan of the Avatar series. Despite some bugs we found, he enjoyed the game much more than I did, especially the puzzle sections and combat with multiple enemies. If you are expecting a AAA experience or a hardcore game, this title is definitely not for you. But if you are looking for a casual experience inspired by The Last Airbender or a game a kids would enjoy, then I would definitely recommend this game.
Let me start by saying that I’m an adult in my 30’s, I know GameMill puts out shovelware more often than not, But this game is decent! It’s not great by any stretch of the imagination but the graphics are nice to look at and imitate the cartoon series pretty well, The bugs have been mostly patched and this is the type of game you wait for a sale on. I got it at $14.99 and I honestly have no regrets. Reminds me of a PS2 era game which is compliment! Not every game needs to be AAA and have huge budgets behind them. I’m not on Team GameMill, I’ve bought their products before and have been SEVERELY let down (Cobra Kai 2 and GI Joe I’m looking at you) but this game is definetly not the 2 or 3’s it’s been given. It’s simplistic in nature but the puzzles get a bit tricky as time goes on and it’s fun to figure them out! Only bad part is the unfortunate **** feels completely baked in and clunky. You can tell that combat was the afterthought in the game, Also I wish they would’ve had a more cgi approach to the cutscenes, I’d even take the in game engine graphics with dialogue for the cutscenes rather than the still scenes that we got. All in all the game is at the very least a 6.. At most a 7.5 (due to mostly combat) abut if you’re a fan of the property make sure to get it on sale and know what to expect and you should be in for a decently good time. Length of Game is 10-12 hours without completing all objectives and doing many side missions. Try it out for yourself!
Terrible gameplay terrible graphics it chose the worst moments from the show to pick for you can play skips the best or even they do pick great moments they just **** all over it and make it you hate it worst game I have ever played and I played games like saint row 2022 and that was bad worst game of the year I don’t care what people say
