Borderlands 2 VR is most certainly a highlight of this year’s VR releases and one of the best titles yet to hit PlayStation VR. Its still Borderlands 2, sure, but you’ve never played Borderlands 2 like this before.
Borderlands 2 VR is what we loved in the original game plus the VR gameplay with the hands recognition. It is one of the longer games playable in VR and the only major default is that you cannot play it in co-op.
Love it! I never liked BL2 until I played it in VR with the ps aim controller - the combination of holding a gun while in VR is an experience unparalleled in terms of immersion - a game way ahead of its time - seems that the dumb masses have an aversion to strapping into vr - damn pubs, which makes VR moving forward sort of unviable commercially, which screws the dedicated community.
More on the ps aim - the tracking is perfect and there’s something so cathartic about rotating the gun sideways like a gangsta and blowing someone’s head off.
Where the F is sniper elite VR?? BL 2 VR demonstrates the true strength and potential of the ps aim controller.

Everything that people have complained about has been fixed. This game is absolutely amazing and I feel like I'm really in Pandora. It's breathtaking! This is my first time playing the game and I'm loving it! It's also nice to have a game that take a really long time to complete.. You get your money's worth here! I highly recommend it to any PSVR owner. Use the dualshock to play though, it's by far the superior way for long sessions and 360 degree instant movement!
Borderlands 2 VR is a good game in VR, which increases a lot the immersive potential of the game. On the other hand, this version is sold without any of the previous DLCs and does not support multiplayer. A shame for a game that's a must on coop.
It could have been a fantastic VR porting but this version of Borderlands 2 lacks any previously released DLCs and PlayStation Aim controller support. Too Bad.
Odd control schemes, lack of core gameplay features from previous installments, and unfortunate legacy design decisions make this holistically feel like an inferior experience.
Despite the original PlayStation 3 version of Borderlands 2 ending up with an aggregate score of 91 per cent on Metacritic. It’s hard to recommend this PlayStation VR release. It does contain all of what made Borderlands 2 a delightful game, but it's the inferior version, trading comfortable controls, co-op and DLC for the marginal thrill of having a 360-degree perspective on the world.
I'm not sure why this game has only 7.5 rating. I am playing on ps4 pro with a dualshock with all comfort settings off and it looks and plays great (no motion sickness). I am not a fan of the motion controllers and didn't bother to try them so perhaps that is the issue for some people. This reminds me of skyrim vr which was incredible as well. I held off because of the relatively low review scores but I am glad that I broke down and picked this up.
The game itself is not one of my most favorite titles around, but playing it in VR really does the trick putting you in a completely new world. I wish there will be more games like this.
Borderlands VR is actually my first Borderlands experience. The game offers a mindblowing and addictive VR gaming experience. The feeling that you are really there. A bit like Skyrim. Altough the game is actually not so well optimized for VR. The HUD minimap is by example difficult to see. I also prefere realistic graphics above the cartoon like graphics of Borderlands. The grap[hics are a bit weak.
UPDATED
First of all: I'm ready to change the score I gave this game as soon as the developers release a patch that solve some ridiculously bad head-tracking that's marring my VR experience, making this game one of the worst (and most expensive) of my PSVR collection. I had no second thoughts when I saw Borderlands 2 was coming for my beloved PSVR: I headed straight for the download, and I was sure I was going to have a blast (literally).
I don't care about the lack of DLC and online gaming, but boy, the jittery neck movement is downright horrible and breaks the immersion big time. It's also inexplicable, as the game isn't a technical marvel, either. One of the pleasures I get from virtual reality is being able to look around naturally, to get that physical sensation you can't find anywhere in a "flat" game, but that's something Borderlands 2 VR just doesn't deliver.
There's a huge collection of VR titles out there that are so much better right now, and I'm fed up with software houses releasing broken games. By the way, the recent patch which allows us to grab our dusty aim controller (which should have been implemented at day 1...) really gives the game a lot of value, and makes me hopeful that the stutter may be fixed in the future.
Very disappointing. Move controller support is awful. Teleport move is very slow to engage and seems to get blocked by invisible walls if you're not standing way out in the open, making it essentially unusable around any kind of background cover or uneven terrain. The guns all have a big floating crosshair that you can't turn off and doesn't even look like it's aligned with the iron-sights on some of the weapons. Scopes on weapons don't work like scopes, they just show a floating monitor 2 meters in front of you, which has a very low FPS render of the flat scope view on it. Guns can only be held one-handed - no grabbing the front of your gun to steady your aim. The game is marginally better if played on a joypad, but you lose most of the benefits of VR and a lot of the immersion playing that way, so what's the point? A great shame. Cheap cash-grab port.
