While Crimzon Clover does owe a tremendous debt to many arcade shooters through the 1990s and 2000s, it's clear that Yotsubane has a great love and understanding of them. It’s not only a homage (look at the default high score table for some familiar initials) but also brings some mechanical brilliance that makes it stand out against most of its doujin shoot-em-up peers, and enough to hang with the genre greats. It’s flashy, it’s exciting, it’s addictive, and it’s an essential purchase for genre fans.
I mean, this game is pretty damn perfect. This is the game shmup heads recommend to new players. It made seem intimidating at first, but there is a novice mode to ease you in. Once you start you may never want to stop. It's basically like 8 lanes of traffic crashed through a fireworks mega factory while simultaneously aliens are trying to invade. It is a dazzling spectacle but you can still see what's going on. The stunning visuals don't detract from the great gameplay, managing the bombs and hypers at just the right time and organizing your options to be where they need to be. If you buy this game, you'll probably end up a life long shmup player. Just don't credit feed, try to beat it 1CC.
Crimzon Clover: World EXplosion is the most well-optimized shmup available on Switch in terms of the port’s quality and accessibility. The added modes do enough to invite fans back to the bullet-hell action, and there are also user-friendly options to introduce the genre to newcomers. This is a must-play shmup that I couldn’t recommend more.
Maybe it’s because of my age, but Crimzon Clover: World Explosion is one of the non-Ring Fit games where I felt exhausted after a session. It’s surprisingly demanding if you’re not used to these kinds of space shooters. I can see why the hardcore fans eat this game up, and it’s a very well designed game. It’s just not something I’d recommend for relaxing after a tough day at work.
Crimzon Clover: World EXplosion is a rare entry within the genre that manages to be inviting to shmup rookies, while also giving the hardcore veterans plenty of challenge to chew on thanks to its carefully considered mechanics and swathe of options.
Ugly game with obviously no play testing. Novice is way to easy while arcade fills up the screen with bullets making it ugly asf. You also move way too fast. He should have went back to the drawing board before releasing this garbage. Should have looked at ikaruga to see how you make real shmups.will give 1 star cus it is somewhat playable
