Addictive and well designed gameplay, easy to start, challenging to complete. Curses’n Chaos is a fun brawler with an interesting item combining system. It comes with a nice presentation and an amazing soundtrack.
Haven't tried single-player, but it's a great game for local co-op. Had a lot of fun at a friend's place trying to beat level 2.
One comment is that the crafting system is a little harsh. It looks like if you want to craft items, you have to hold onto them until you beat the level with them.
Although I wish it did a better job of being captivating for more than a stage or two at a time, those exhausted with 2D brawlers ought to give it a go because of its unorthodox gameplay quirks and pulsating atmosphere.
You'll need the patience of a saint to break this curse, but if you've got the skills then Curses 'N Chaos can be a very rewarding game. Strong design and a surprising amount of depth offset some minor niggles, and thus with a low price tag, this is well worth bashing your gaming skills against.
Tribute Games has created a genuinely fun game here, but regular players will soon find themselves tiring of the repetitive gameplay and tough difficulty, meaning that only the hardcore gamers will get anything of value from Curses ‘n’ Chaos.
Don't get put off by the old school, 8-bit graphics of the game : Curses 'n Chaos is a little gem. The game is very fun and addictive, and the controls are just perfect. The sprites are actually varied and well animated, with a lot of older games and pop culture references. The music sound good too, some of the themes reminding you of old NES games such as Castlevania.
I haven't tried the multiplayer mode, unfortunately, but they must be even more fun than the solo mode.
Note for trophy hunters : Overall, the trophies aren't very hard to get, except one trophy that may put your patience to the test - It may take quite a few tries to get it, but you will, eventually !
Great little arcade brawler, beautiful artwork with just one more go addiction. Great on the vita too.
You can use many items and weapons which adds to the fun. It should be in an old arcade cabinet. Brilliant!
Boring and hyper redundant. Feels like a mobile game or demo rather than a full on game. I feel terrible for the poor souls who got **** into buying a physical edition. Really not much more to say.
SummaryWhen brawny bounty hunters Leo and Lea are cursed by Algarr the Wizard King, they’re mobbed by all sorts of creatures and monsters. Alchemist Allison knows a sure-fire way to get rid of the curse: The Elixir of Life. But the only way to get the Elixir’s ingredients? Smash 'dem monsters.
