Doom 3: BFG Edition is, without a doubt, the definitive collection for fans of this series. The package brings together virtually every Doom offering that has ever existed, with additions like the "duct tape" mod and The Lost Missions amounting to delicious gravy.
For the long-awaited sequel to the ground breaking Doom, Id went in a different direction and created a hugely atmospheric survival horror/FPS hybrid which disappointed those who wanted more trigger-happy blasting action. But objectively Doom 3 is a brilliantly designed and great looking game that often genuinely makes you jump thanks to the ingenious inclusion of the fact that you cannot carry a torch and a gun at the same time; when you explore the darkened corridors you are either going in blind or completely unarmed making for hugely tense affair. The BFG edition adds HD graphics, the expansion pack missions and the original Doom & Doom 2 which makes the perfect Doom collection.
WTF is wrong with you people giving this low scores? Doom, Doom2, Doom3 and RoE all in one this is a sure ten you stupid c*nts wake the f*ck up! The two original Doom games are some of the finest games ever made! And Doom3 does not deserve all the hate some people give it. Doom bfg edition is awesome buy it!!!
You get a straight port of Doom and Doom II, a nicely polished up HD version of Doom 3, and a chance to send a whole lot of monsters to hell. It's Doom. Marine, grab the biggest freakin' gun you can find and follow me.
Doom 3: BFG Edition is still an enjoyable romp through armies of hellspawn, and if you've yet to play the Doom series, there's a lot to like here. Just be prepared for plenty of repetitive strafing and hours of fragging ugly demon ass. This is quite clearly the devil's work.
Eight years have passed since the original Doom 3 debuted in the world of high-end PC gaming. Meanwhile, FPS have evolved so much that this glorious title shows all the time that has passed.
Doom 3 BFG Edition is an expensive game that won't easily find buyers. Admittedly, the pack proposes a lot of stuff such as Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil, The Lost Mission, Doom et Doom II. However, the "enhanced" part is not as good as it should be. The original game and its expansions did get really old despite their new support for 3D and the introduction of a checkpoint save system that won't revolutionize the gameplay.
Doom 3: BFG edition is the quintessential game collection for any doom fan, it includes Doom, Doom II, Doom 3, the Resurrection of Evil expansion, and eight brand new levels packaged in the form of "the lost mission" expansion. Doom 3 and its expansions have been polished to a shine with updated graphics and improvements to game features. Both Doom and Doom II are of course classics, each wih various additions that make it even better, truly the best console port of both games, and Both Doom and Doom II both work with the Xbox 360 arcade versions of Doom and Doom II as well.
I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the doom series.
Simply one of the greatest fps of all time: scary, hard, dark as hell, long lasting, wonderful: but you little kids can surely go on playing CoD and **** games like that!
First time playing Doom 3 in any shape or form. It's a bit dated by now, but still a solid action-horror-FPS. But the game takes forever to pick up, as the first 8 hours are pretty generic missions. But Hell is fantastic, though way too short. I wish there were much less Mars corridors, and much more Hell. Wouldn't have spent $40 on this, but I got it cheap.
Yeah, DOOM 1 and 2 are on this, and are 9/10 classics, but that's not what this release is about. DOOM3 is a 7/10 for 2018 standards
This is a good way to start to introduce this generation of gamers' to doom just before doom 4 comes out and is still fun to play. although outdated it is still a solid game and i must say, this makes me a bit excited for the next one. People hate this just because it's graphics are **** and you don't really aim, but they miss the point of enjoyment and the fact it was made more than 10 years ago
This version of Doom 3 is very good; a beautiful game to look at. There are only two but annoying problems. The first are the auto saves that intrude upon the experience with a sudden rude pause. The second problem is even worse. There is no option to map your weapons to the d-pad. Instead they decided to permanently assign fists and chainsaw to right, grenades to up, and the soul cube to left. These are not my go-to weapons for the great majority of time. Instead I have to scroll weapons with either LB or RB looking for the pistol, shotgun, machine gun, chain gun, grenades, plasma gun, rocket launcher, BFG-9000. In the heat of battle (which is the whole time), either you have memorized what gun is best for that fight or you're left to frantically scroll through the gun menu while trying to survive. This my friends is an unacceptable blunder; a gross oversight of the d-pad's Raison d'être.
Did not yet play any of the other stuff.
