FullBlast is a retro shoot'em up similar to those arcade games of the 80s and 90s. It offers a simple gameplay, a good graphic section and detailed scenarios, which sometimes can be repetitive.
Give yourself a couple of hours with this one and you can blast your way through all 12 levels on offer. A great soundtrack and classic gameplay make this a worthy addition to your Switch library.
FullBlast is a 2D shoot'em up that treads along some of the traditional clichés of the genre without taking any risks to go further or to stand above its peers. Similar enemy patterns, repetitive behaviour, plain visuals, FullBlast can deliver a fluid gameplay experience but not a varied, original one, with a small redemption coming from its local multiplayer element.
It would be nice if FullBlast had made some bold choices in its design to help it stand out in a very saturated genre filled with similar titles. That said, the base game is fun. It’s easy and approachable for newcomers. But it doesn’t go all that far in any particular aspect.
FullBlast is a nifty little diversion for those that have a few bucks to spend on a shoot-em-up, but with lenient difficulty, generic presentation, and unremarkable gameplay, you might have a better time with another bullet hell game on the Switch eShop.
SummaryMany have tried and failed... It seemed that the war against these things would be a cakewalk, but this is taking more than expected - humanity needs you! You're our hero.
