SteamWorld Heist is an excellent version of a superb, extremely creative strategy game. It's approachable enough that I would even recommend it to those who aren't necessarily followers of the strategy genre, but deep enough that it's a no-brainer for veteran fans. Its finely-crafted gameplay is combined with a charming presentation to create a potent combination. Even on iOS, a platform with no shortage of high-quality turn-based strategy games, SteamWorld Heist stands out effortlessly, making it a genuine must-have. Don't miss it.

Steamworld Heist excels at what initially seems like a potential weakness, removing a dimension from the typical 3D battlefields of XCOM and similar games. But its brand of 2D tactics only makes positioning, smart strategy, finding effective synergies between weapons and classes, that much more crucial and satisfying when you survive against overwhelming odds.

It's very easy to look past Heist's flaws and just enjoy it for what it is. It looks and plays great, particularly in this mobile format, and its New Game+ feature will make sure you have plenty of robotic strategy action to work through even after finishing the main game.

Steamworld Heist is great. From the world to the characters to the style to the gameplay, it’s a lot of fun and pretty much a no-brainer if you like turn-based tactics. Or robots. Or Firefly. Really, the only reason I’d suggest giving it a pass is if you already own it for another platform.

Physics based combat makes a surprisingly enjoyable addition to turn-based strategy in this stylish, story driven campaign. Head out to the black and tell ‘em you ain’t coming back!

I actually didn't think that the aiming would be so smooth as it is, but after having played for 6+ hours, I'm just enjoying the ride. Wow! Honestly, the previous steamworld game before this (Steamworld Dig) I wasn't to big of a fan of but this was different. Steamworld HeistWow! Honestly, the previous steamworld game before this (Steamworld Dig) I wasn't to big of a fan of but this was different. Steamworld Heist is a unique 2d turned based shooting game that requires skill without being overwhelmingly difficult. The characters, even though not having super unique abilities have unique personalities. Conversations can be different depending on who is on your ship, for others will sometimes barge in and make a comment on your conversation making it feel more live. The artstyle is pleasing to look at, for it has this hand-drawn kind of feel to it that gives it its own special look. The story is not super in depth but is inverse enough to the point where you want to find out what comes next. It is not hard to understand and easy to catch up on without being a stupid last minute story put together in a nick of time. I personally enjoy the music in this game, especially in the bars. Bars are supposed to be a getaway place and the music makes you not want to leave, it's catching, soothing, and has a nice story in itself. Overall Steamworld Heist is a game worth trying with charm and fun that you shouldn't expect to end, even after you beat it. Expand
