Only Up is a great example of the creativity that lies within the depths of Steam. This isn't a hugely ingenious title that is doing something we've never seen before. It just offers demanding and intricate platforming in such a rudimentary and well thought out manner that it stands out among the rest.
Only Up! is an experience for gamers that tests their patience and keyboard and mouse skills to the absolute limit. In the genre of 3D platformers, this game is a decent entry and will likely inspire future imitations. Considerable progress still needs to be made in order for the genre to provide a near-flawless gameplay experience. In order to achieve the status of a perfect platformer, the game must address a number of bugs and significantly improve its movement mechanics. These necessary changes are crucial, considering the immense dedication players will invest as they embark on this demanding and arduous adventure.
Why'd I even buy this hunk of doodoo. Game can't even run smoothly on the lowest settings on my gaming PC with a new i5 CPU. Level design is non-existent, objects to jump on are just random Unity store assets and they're all inserted into the game poorly and have poor collision detection, making the game broken by default. Getting Over It has less controls and is still easier to move in than this stupid game. And it promotes NFTs in game, even through the main character. NFTs haven't been a thing in forever, so that's another useless thing they added.
I'm only giving this game a 1 because it's not ugly, not as broken as something like Fallout 76, and it's at least simple to pick up and play.
oh, this one will "test your patience" alright, because it's barely a game. it's so badly optimized that i don't think it would run properly on any hardware, and looks awful at any graphical setting. there's no tutorial, no opening cinematic, the POV starts on the ground facing up at the player's crotch, revealing the inside of their model. some kind of voice to text service has been used instead of bothering to write an intro or instructions in text. there are millions of better games with better controls, better graphics, and better level design, so if you buy into the hype that this is just supposed to be very challenging, you will find yourself very disappointed. it's shovelware, i'm surprised they aren't trying to sell NFTs.
