While my frustration and bitterness towards the multiplayer remains stubbornly rigid in this most recent Call of Duty outing, it simply isn’t enough to impede my adulation for the campaign. If nothing else, you should play Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War for the campaign alone. I really do believe it’s a worthwhile experience, and marks a return to form for Treyarch of old.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War comes to PC with superior graphic detail and advanced effects, but also a solid ray tracing implementation and very smooth performances thanks to DLSS 2.0 resampling.

Although short on content, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a dependable entry in the franchise with fast action and a variety of solid modes. The great zombies level and the nostalgic campaign are definitely the highlight, and the competitive multiplayer should become strong once it gets more maps and tweaks.

One of the more middling entries in a franchise that is feeling more than its fair share of fatigue, and although it offers up a solid enough and serviceable experience for players, it unfortunately falls short of the lofty standards established by Modern Warfare.

The campaign keeps the player on the edge of his seat, to the point where you want to know more and hope to see a sequel to this story. The mechanics brought by the Story Mode, the dialogue choice and the impression of being protagonist give a real boost to the campaign, even if it represents only five to seven hours of play. The new multiplayer modes are great and bring a new dynamic, but the operators' movements limit our experience on these big maps. We're waiting for Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War to bring a lot more content and, most importantly, to see the integration of Warzone. The Zombie mode also brings a nice touch, with new mechanics that are great fun, except for the lack of cinematics.

The campaign of the new Call of Duty is unusually stupid, but the multiplayer doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel and cheerfully exploits its attractive Cold War setting. Together with the Zombies mode and Warzone integration, this is one hefty chunk of military content.

While its campaign is very fun and features great gameplay ideas wrapped in 1980s action movie codes, its multiplayer is disappointing. The weapons lack punch, the cards are few and unequal, the new modes are anecdotal, the whole is unbalanced.

Bullet traveltime took some getting used to (bullets move way slower in this game than the earlier ones. I assume this is what people mistake as lag when they complain that the game is laggy), but now I can rack kills same as usual. XP gain could be higher, but at least we have 4 man zombies for grinding gun xp in a relatively reasonable timeframe. Great fun with friends, as CoD tends to be.

The game plays and feels like a pre-alpha. Core fps mechanics are completely broken and inconsistent: Mouse & keyboard aim feels unnatrual, controller aim assist was reworked (and made a lot worse) for some bizarre reason, ignoring the fact that they have had a good, working aim assist for the last decade. THIS GAME HAS SBMM! And it is enforced visciously with the lack of any ranked mode. Visuals are worse than modern warfare 2019 despite sharing the same engine. All this without even getting to the multiple bugs and crashes especially on PC. The game is currently not fun to play in the slightest, and probably the biggest problem of all (which is borderliine criminal) from the development team and publisher is the fact that the game costs $70 for something that feels like an independent work in very early pre-alpha phases of development. Zombies in the only reason worth getting this game however that too contains multiple game breaking bugs.

As far as I'm concerned, blaming the tough year of 2020 doesn't excuse the poor product that they have delivered to us. I would go so far as to say that this is a scam product overhyped by marketing and that the publusher and game title should be boycotted.

First COD game I've bought since the first Black Ops, but needed something to do during lockdown so thought I'd give it a go. Multiplayer is awful, small maps seemingly designed solely for campers. Spawning is terrible, I got shot by a sniper from the other side of the map and then spawned literally next to him. Small number of badly designed maps for £50 is a joke. Wish I hadn't wasted money on this rubbish, but won't be buying another again. Expand

They had a lucky hit with the original Modern Warfare, mostly due to the idtech engine used and are still milking it while proving that all they care about is money.

First off, full price game full of microtransactions. Then no server browser, which degrades this game to a disgusting console port. Then, largely due to the missing server browser, endless queues if you dont want aim assisted console players in your matches.

In short, I greatly regret having tried another COD after all those years. It's a console game now and PC players shouldnt waste time or money on it. Best thing that could happen to the gaming world, were if Activision would disappear, making room for real game creators.

I legit can not believe that i spent more than $5 on this game let alone $60. the guns just seem to kill at a random amount of shots, that is if you go longer than 5 minutes without the game shutting your pc off. there are only about 5 maps, 6 if you include the zombies map, and less than 30 guns throughout the entire game that take at least 10 hours to level up one to level 10.I'd say the campaign is worth it but its deleted my save all 4 times I have tried to get through it. Zombies is the games only saving grace but if you've made it to round 20, you've already seen everything it has to offer. I'd recommend saving your money or buying modern warfare, its what I wish I had done. I have never kicked myself in the ass for buying a game more than I have with this one. Expand
