Warzone 2.0 is every bit the sequel you hoped it would be. While minor improvements could still be useful, Al Mazrah is arguably the best map to ever grace the Call of Duty battle royale experience. The tactical pacing is a welcome change, DMZ is a revelation for the extraction shooter casual space, and it’s all built on the best gunplay in first-person shooters. Infinity Ward has knocked it out of the park.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is the update needed to bring back those lost fans. Although it has had some bugs since its launch, it is a more fun and realistic Battle Royale than its predecessor. DMZ mode takes more time to evolve but is an excellent addition to the formula.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is by no means a leap forward, but it is in every aspect superior to its already excellent predecessor. For me, it’s a perfect battle royale, although it’s a shame that right now, plagued by countless technical issues, it looks more like a prerelease build than a finished game.

Can you top something like Warzone, what it represented and what it meant to so many people? No, but Warzone 2.0 is giving it a bloody good go and we’re here for the ride, even if that ride involves bartering for our lives on proximity chat while camping in a stairwell.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0's revamp is reinvigorating thanks to the social fun of proximity chat and the excellent new DMZ extraction mode.

The heights of Warzone 2’s combat and stunning map design are held down by a rocky launch rife with issues.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s battle royale is an iterative upgrade.

DMZ mode is literally the most innovative thing in this game and its well-handled by Activison

DMZ is a cool addition, but I'll admit to mostly sticking to Battle Royale (please add a solo mode to DMZ Raven, it would make it a better experience for lone wolves like me).

There are also a ♥♥♥♥ ton of technical problems. So many crashes, bugs & general technical issues. It just feels like yet another game that got rushed out the door to meet a release date.

Honestly, while I'm enjoying Warzone 2.0, I also am a heavily entrenched Warzone vet who's stuck with it through thick & thin. DMZ is worth trying (if only bc it's the most accessible way to try out the Extraction Shooter genre that seems set to be the next big thing), but Battle Royale is in a rough spot right now & Infinity Ward did make quite a few bad design choices when making this game. Hopefully Raven will continue refining this game into what it should have always been & that Infinity Ward is never given so much control over Warzone's direction ever again. They may have conceived this mode, but Raven has proven to be better at shaping Warzone into a fun & enjoyable game that its fans can play for weeks or even months on end…

Creative score (story, gameplay, voice acting, art direction): 5/10
Technical score (graphics, audio, optimization): 7/10 (While the graphics & audio in this game are phenomenal, I have to dock points for Engagement Optimized Matchmaking, the instability, glitches & crashing issues))
Business Practices score: 4/10 (Not terrible, but exclusive content on PlayStation, microtransactions & a FOMO-inducing Battle Pass do knock this game down a few notches (without even getting into the terrible practices of Activision as a company)
Overall score (my thoughts on a game’s overall quality, doesn’t consider the business practices unless they are detrimental to the experience): 6/10

This is the worst audio I ever see in any call of duty that I have played. Many technical issue (lag, crash, server error, bomb drone freeze. Absolute awful UI, visuals recoil aim down sights is weird (you lost people you shoot because the visuals of the weapon is shaking). All the fun stuff from warzone 1 is not there anymore (stim was really fun in fortune for example), the loot was straight forward in warzone 1 now it's mehhh (stacking ammo is not working anymore, killstreak), you can't run and refill plate.... So pretty much annoying stuff and not fun at all in general. I do many kill in my game but I'm not enjoying it, push is now hard cause many people just camp cause the map is too large. Fortune keep was the perfect size, a lot of shop, respawning, many cash (fun stuff you know Expand
