Candleman: The Complete Journey is a pretty zen game with a very attractive core design of puzzles. Using 10 seconds of light to find a way out is always full of expectation, especially because the producer made the graphics extremely artistic and beautiful, which reminds me some former masterpieces like Journey or Monument Valley. What's more, I am really into the story about the self-redemption of this little candleman.

Candleman: The Complete Journey is one of the best indie platformers I’ve played in some time. Certainly, one of the best 3D indie platformers. Candleman mixes clever mechanics, varied level design, and a whole lot of charm to create an experience that’s guaranteed to light your fire.

Candleman: The Complete Journey is a very nicely developed 3D platformer that has a great hook or gimmick that it introduces immediately and utilizes throughout. For $15, it presents a good value for anyone that is seeking a clever, charming, accessible, and fun platformer.

It manages to do something new with puzzles and platforming, which is already an accomplishment. It's not perfect, but it's original and you'll enjoy it if you like this type of game.

Candleman is obviously a nice little game with an undeniable poetic touch and nice gameplay mechanics that evolve as each chapter goes by. The game is quick to beat but for 15 euros it's tough to be picky.

Candleman is a nice puzzle platformer, with a great atmosphere and some fascinating game mechanics.

Progressing through the levels felt way too slow, finding collectible candles frustrated me, and I wasn’t particularly fond of the camera. The story failed to grab my attention due to the bland protagonist and the boring narrative. The gameplay mechanics stay somewhat interesting throughout, but the level design, platforming, and puzzles hold it back from greatness. Candleman is a decent experience, but it’s not a game I’d recommend without a few warnings.

I decided to grab this game after seeing it compared to Mario 64. With such high expectations, I was prepared to be let down. HoweverI decided to grab this game after seeing it compared to Mario 64. With such high expectations, I was prepared to be let down. However Candleman: The Complete Journey is an amazing experience that can't really be compared to anything else, because it's very different to everything else. The serious and sometimes scary use of darkness, the unique lighting mechanic, and the unusual title character all make for a game that reminded why I started playing games in the first place. Looking forward to seeing what comes next from these developers. Expand
