Its progression system stifles it a bit early on, but regardless, Evolve is a deeply rewarding multiplayer experience that packs both brains and brawn.

It lacks variety in the long run, but with the right group of people around you Evolve is a great romp with beautiful visuals.

Turtle Rock delivers a solid multiplayer concept, which is original, accessible and deep. Playing with friends is indeed a great experience, but we think the amount of content might not be enough.

There’s not a huge amount of content in Evolve compared to many unlock-led games, but by keeping things tight the game always stays focused on what’s important: the thrill of the hunt. The almost absence of variety in the map design may well hack down Evolve’s lasting appeal, but what’s here in the main game is perfect for many great hours.
  5. Did Turtle Rock succeed in laying the foundations of 4vs1 genre? For the most part yes, yet they have too much riding on a person playing as monster – basically, he’s the one who ultimately determines how interesting the game will be. [April 2015, p.58]

I liked Evolve. It devoured 20 hours of my life without my even realizing (unfortunately due to matchmaking issues I spent a substantial part of that time looking at loading screens during attempts to connect to a sensible match). I will never love it though, even if I acknowledge Turtle Rock’s courage in blazing trails, their mastery in AI programming and artistic taste. [04/2015, p.42]

As an overall game, it offers a basic shooter with a nice gimmick, and I do think you can gather some friends together to get an afternoon’s worth of laughs out of it. I don’t believe there’s enough mileage to have those laughs regularly, though, and certainly not enough to where I’d recommend rushing out and getting it so soon after launch.

Look it is an amazing game.

Don't listen to the ppl complaining it's too pricey or whatever. It is exactly what gamers expect of a shooter game to be - it is brutal, epic and to the point.

The first people to come complain here are usually the ones who did not understand what they are getting into or what the game is supposed to be like.

It is the top shooter of 2015! Mind my words.

As the monster it plays like an action RPG and as the hunter you have your standard FPS scheme. The controls are nothing innovative but do they have to be when they work?
The graphics while not the best certainly look good and the sound quality is amazing. The roars of the monster and all the stomping sound very satisfying as do the guns and over all ambient noise.

Its almost exclusively multiplayer but even using AI bots is still a fun game and the AI does very well (better then some players) as both monster and hunter.

Overall an insanely fun game. Some of the dlc is high but none of it is necessary for the game. Just changes skins and the sort.

Now that's out of the way how about the gameplay? Well it's decent at best, it gets very repetitive very quickly as the game only features one gamemode, YES I know there's more, but the only gamemode that anyone plays is Hunt while the others are never touched. Playing as the monster is kinda cool, but it should have been in first person, so I had an idea who I was killing. Playing as the hunters was boring for me because all of the characters feel like carbon copies of other FPS classes, except the Trapper who is unique.

The story? It's terrible ESPECIALLY THE ENDING, and the game has next to new character, all of the characters are all bland and boring.

The graphics while amazing, you do need a powerful PC for it to run on max settings, overall the world of Evolve looks great!

Overall Evolve is a massive cash cow and a disgrace to gaming, plus I predicted that this game would suffer the same fate as Titanfall in my steam review, "Hyped with lots of DLC, dies within a month" and I was right, right now in the time of this review the original Killing Floor had more players (And it's dieing because of Killing Floor 2 and the lack of new content) then Evolve, that's a joke, like this game and it's precious DLC life support.

Whenever you see 2K publish or Turtle Rock Studios develop a new game, just remember they shat out this massive lazy cash cow, and don't fall into the same trap, especially 2K, they love chopping up content and selling it as DLC, look at Borderlands 2, the Pre-Sequel and the Sid Meier's games, look at all that DLC they sell, and it's getting worse.
