  • Summary: Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons is the third expansion for the award-winning and critically acclaimed MMORPG Guild Wars 2. The dragon cycle that has sustained and blighted Tyria for ages is collapsing. Mortal hearts and choices will define this moment in history—and echo in the future forever.

A marvelous new frontier for Guild Wars 2. End of Dragons crashes into Cantha and expands Tyria with more than jsut a new sandbox. It delivers an astounding new adventure on a stupendous scale. It isn't perfect but if this is where he end comes then it's a fitting epitaph for Guild Wars 2.

Overall, End of Dragons feels like ArenaNet has taken all the lessons of both Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire and honed their newest expansion into the best of both. The few areas where things aren't quite there, they are working hard at fixing them in the right way, which will be best over the long term, rather than quick kneejerk solutions. This is the perfect capstone to the story they have been telling for the last ten years, and this expansion makes me excited to see where they will go from here.

Not as groundbreaking as Path of Fire, but a must-have expansion for fans of both the old and the new Guild Wars.

AreaNet's best expansion yet is brimming with all the detail and character that makes Guild Wars 2 so special, and its approachability to solo players means nobody has to miss out this time around.

End of Dragons is a high quality addition to the Guild Wars 2 corpus. However, unless you're a returning player, it probably won't inspire to hop on the Guild Wars 2 just now.

There was a lot riding on the return to Cantha in Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons. It's an iconic location steeped in the franchise's history. Fortunately, the latest expansion delivers an experience worthy of the hype. The end of the Dragon Cycle narrative will challenge you, teach you exciting new skills, and leave you feeling content. The story isn't overly long, but there are plenty of activities to keep you busy for many hours around Cantha.

Where the game goes from here remains to be seen, but Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons is exactly the kind of promising expansion the game needed to lay the foundation for its future in spite of these issues, with a core concept and some brilliant moments buoying it through the turbulence of some of its other changes.

    The expansion have great story.
    The fishing game is excellent.
The skiffs are fun, especially with friends.
    The siege turtle is awesome.
The meta events feel like a combination of HoT and PoF metas merged together but with their good parts.
The strike missions are fun and challenging, especially the last one.
There is a lot of stuff to do in the expansion, lots of objectives to fulfill for you to experience everything the the ArenaNet studio has put into this expansion.
The soundtrack is one of the best in video games I've heard in a while. It tops HoT and PoF soundtracks in my opinion.

I urge people to take those negative reviews with a grain of salt. And try the game and form your own opinion about it. But here is my honest and heartfelt take as a veteran player: This game is fantastic. No game is perfect, Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons included. But I must say the attention to detail is impressive and so far I am truly enjoying the game. There are some things that need to be adjusted such as the ending meta event. But they are working on that. I have had ZERO disconnects and almost no lag they entire time. Which is rare on a release day of any game, even on highly populated maps. The maps are beautiful and smooth, the story is compelling and touches your heart. The new elite specs are interesting and bring a few new goodies to the game. I will refrain from details because I do not want to give any spoilers. Also Guild wars 2 has one of the best mount systems out there and skiffs just add a new element to the game along with fishing. Which has been challenging, but in the best of ways. I loved it and I highly recommend checking this game out for yourself. If I could give it a higher score I would. You can tell the devs listened to the players and took what they said to heart. They care about the lore and history, but also want to show progress for the future. 10 out of 10 for me. Expand

Taken many breaks in-between. I'll be honest, this expansion is pretty mediocre. The contrast is very high in the colors of the maps. I mean the maps are beautiful, but the colors are super bright. The story seemed great in theory with the Icebrood saga buildup. BUT then they brought back some enemies that were already resolved several years ago as the main antagonists of this expansion. "Ankka" was just thrown into the dialogue out of nowhere to be the main antagonist because "she's so empty inside and wants to kill the gods and all higher powers".

The "selling" features of this expansion were some iffy elite specs, a boat, and fishing. And you could already use the stingray to ride over water. So honestly i feel like this was 6 months of free release maps labeled as an expansion. Not worth 30$, infact i might even ask for a refund and wait till it goes on sale.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Starting Location Looks appealing, but they cant reproduce the Aura of factions. Most of the content is mindless grinding. I really wished they come up with a great story, but this Aurene Arc is mostly boring. Athough, I liked Mai as a Character, this is the only appealing Character to me.

Also disconnects are really annoying. IF you disconnect during a mission and reconnect like 1 second later all mission progess is lost. This is a problem since the original gw2 came out...
