Insurgency is a breath of fresh air and I can easily see myself playing it every chance I get.
Forget about fast-paced shooters and frenetic action. This one relies on a team-based mechanic, where every move should be planned. There's room for improvement when it comes to the visuals and the bullet-detection system, but still it is a very recommended choice.

Another god-tier hardcore fps! Fast paced and fun gameplay.
But beware noobs, you will be murdered.

This is the shooter that completed my training, I am now a Jedi Master. The Brothers in Arms series was the beginning, this was the end.
After having given up on shooters, mostly due to lackluster and spamville multiplayer sessions in COD and Halo, I found this gem. No bs hit points for days; actual teamwork; no radar-no on screen crosshairs etc. Its gritty and feels authentic... for a game. And no ammo count, this is a great feature. You actually have to listen and count yer ammo per clip.

Insurgency is a breath of fresh air that stands apart from the shooter duality of Battlefield and Call of Duty. It rewards patient play and encourages teamwork, with satisfying results for players who don’t give into the temptation of taking a run-and-gun approach.
I can’t remember when I cursed that much while playing a multiplayer shooter. It is tactically challenging, but suffers from dreary maps and lack of modes.
Insurgency is a game that doesn’t have any big problems but rather it has a bunch of little ones that culminate.
Insurgency was made by someone who’d experienced warfare for people who wanted to get as close to experiencing it as they dared.
If you don’t mind fighting over the same cluttered iraqi streets and desolate afghan hills that you’ve seen a hundred times before, Insurgency brings enough hardcore sensibility and competent execution to stand out from the other multiplayer shooters. The old-school gameplay combined with updated mechanics are a breath of fresh air in a genre crowded with games that don’t understand that failure can still be fun.
Fun multiplayer shooter, although bland in the sound design and visuals. Mechanically, the game feels pretty good.

Tedious controller support.
Unclear menus for newcomers.
No simple option to play as a group VS AI, except playing with other unknown players.
And...
The game design is such that you spend most of your time dead. You usually spend 5 minutes waiting for your partners to win or die, for one or two minutes of playing.
Not to mention you have to install a third party anti-cheat module.

This game has the worst animations ive ever seen in a game. You can barely hear the footsteps. And you dont feel you are actually running/walking. The controls are so slow. And the game is way laggy. I feel bad for paying for what it feels like cheap mod, instead of a real professional game. The performance is poor too, my PC is good yet i cant have this Source made game running smoothly.
The gunplay, shots sound and tactical gameplay are good, but i just cant get into it because of the slow/clunky controls. I cant recommend this game.
