Not what I expected in a good way. I just assumed it would be a cheaply made porn game that would be over in less than an hour. What you actually get is more an RPG like experience with the ability to level up, interact with the world, and quests. Voice acting is well done and the scenes and women are beautiful. The game does like to pull the rug out from under you when close to achieving the goal which both irritates and makes you want to follow quests through. The game itself is hours long and you will get lost. My only complaint is minor spelling errors and some plot holes that don’t make sense. Menus are also a little tedious to navigate and you can accidentally click on places you didn’t mean to if you don’t perfectly alone your mouse clicks. Great experience and I will be waiting for Season 2!
It is more like an interactive novel and it's pretty good.
It's not an adventure game, though; you can always go back, change choices, no problems. And no real forks in the story either.
The story is not as good as Being a Dik.
But in some ways it's better, eg the girls talk, and there's no need to re-play it to see if you can screw all the girls :)
On the positive side,
- graphically the game is well done
- the voice-over is nice
- most of the girls look good,
- the story is not too bad
- easy to use and navigate
- you can go back and discover the outcome of alternative choices without repercussions or major changes
Negatives
- the male character's member is well beyond human size, it's disturbing.
- some girls' proportions are a beyond human, again, disturbing
- sometimes there's a recorded panting sound the girls make, plus their other noises/talk overlapping, ruining the mood
- occasionally the story has 'funny' inserts, completely out of character notes, that will disconnect you from the story entirely. Very stupid design choice
I’ve played a few games from Inceton now and my opinion varies. With Lust Theory it is pretty similar to my thoughts of Summer with Mia in that I found it too hard to root for the main character. The game seemed to be all over the place with him in terms of how he acts. For instance I’m pretty sure that some acts he commits could count as **** at worst or sexual assault at the least yet there is one optional story arc where he can blackmail a character into groping them but decides it is going to far and the game blocks that arc off. There is also little in the way of choices. You can’t choose to not be interested in a specific girl. You can choose which girls arcs to go through some times but in others the game even takes that choice away and lays out which order to do things in. I also didn’t like how there is little to no closure to the story. I understood going in that there was a season two so I expected some form of cliffhanger but by the end of season one I have no idea how the time loop got started; what causes certain glitches; or really learned much about the characters other than they all want a piece of the MC. The voice acting was decent to good. One thing I noticed was that, for obvious reasons, the girls never said your name. This wasn’t always a problem as sometimes they would use “he” or “his” instead which worked just fine but other times there was simply an audio gap which just seemed strange. The models and object details were well done. The animations were well done although there was a lack of actual sex scenes given the run time for the season. A lot of it was buildup and introductions as well as replays. One thing I will give the game credit for is that for a game that is basically playing the same day over and over it does a good job of actually progressing and introducing tiny details that show you how to learn more. The game could have easily been a grind and felt stale very quickly but the game allows many events to just auto skip so you can not have to repeat little things over and over and can get to the fresh content.
I played Lust Theory Season One on Linux. It never crashed and there were no spelling errors but there were a few times where the text didn’t match the audio. The characters were saying they were eighteen but the text said twenty. I’m guessing the correct answer is eighteen unless the MC is a moron who failed the last few years of high school. Another time Jess says that she is twenty five but the text said twenty six. You can save any time you wanted and there were fifty four save slots. Alt-Tab didn’t work. One thing I would have liked was the ability to skip text to the next choice which many visual novels have.

Overall it’s tough to recommend Lust Theory. It’s got a couple interesting characters but the MC is spastic at best and there is little choice to steer him in another direction. The story doesn’t flesh out enough to justify the price. Add that in with the text and audio issues and there are better options out there. I finished the first season in eight hours and twelve minutes and paid $8.79 CAD for it. That’s not a terrible price for it but the current normal price tag of $17.49 CAD is. If you’re looking for a better Inceton game I would go with Inside Jennifer. I may check out season two of Lust Theory when it’s on sale but I couldn’t justify full price after season one.

SummaryYou take control of a guy living with three beautiful women. You live a pretty ordinary life... You go to school, do your chores, study for college, play games, watch TV. And then, the same day starts repeating and repeating, and... repeating. So suddenly your life isn't so ordinary anymore...
