Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite's primary goal is for the player to have fun with it, allowing him to do many and fancy things with a little bit of effort, but also has the depth for anyone who decides to look under the hood.

Accessible crossover fighting game with FX-rich, extremely fast battles, which feel tamer in comparison to its predecessor.

As surprising as it is given how unappealing the package initially looks, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is a decent brawler when all’s said and done. It may look borderline repulsive in spots, have a subpar soundtrack and be sporting a less interesting roster than previous iterations (and no, there’s still no sign of Sheva Alomar or Regina from Dino Crisis) but the fights are enjoyably high-octane affairs with solid mechanics, and as cliché as it might sound, that’s really what it’s all about at the end of the day.

As somebody who’s played each entry in the series, I couldn’t help but feel a little slighted by Marvel. Despite this, I still really enjoyed the game. It’s mechanically sound, and performs incredibly well online. At the time I sat down for this review, the game had almost completely overcome my objections. While it may not be my favorite fighter, it still has me reaching for the controller for more matches.

I don’t know what it is with Capcom recently, but they seem to be getting the most important parts of their fighting games – the fighting systems and mechanics – spot on, but dropping the ball in other departments. That said, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is too much fun to simply advise people to ignore, it’s a good fighting game surrounded by the unpolished presentation, but it does enough to be able to recommend it to fighting fans, but less so for the Marvel comic/film fanatics.

Regardless of the complaints, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite proves to earn its place in the powerful series laid out before it. Furthermore, the genre of 2D fighters is a very familiar concept, with a rich history and a dense family of games taking after it. Often, these games can seem too generic to stand out or to feel worthy of any time given, but conversely, many of these games try too hard to make something of themselves, and result in a game far too complex and clunky to be enjoyed in any way. Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, however, treads this line perfectly and offers an engaging experience born out of a classic style.

Sadly, nice visuals and a bit of banter isn’t enough to make Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite anything more than a blazing disappointment. It was always going to have a rough time: MvC is a beloved series, and there’s no avoiding the critical eye of series die-hards. You know that, I know that, but apparently Capcom didn’t, and it shows. This should’ve been so much more than what it is: a promotional vehicle for Disney’s Marvel films with questionable balance, muted fighting, and frustrating DLC practices.

The game is great, extremely fun, the gameplay / gameplay itself is the best ever made in the franchise. It is fun, balanced and fluid. The graphics are not ugly as they seem in Youtube videos, when you play the game in front of you, the graphic is beautiful, nothing amazing, but it is far superior to MvsC3. The game takes advantage of the old characters, but there was a deep balance, and new skills. The characters are better worked and deep. The developers have already said that they have had to take advantage of many characters because of the low budget given by Capcom. The game is not good for casuals, there is not much offline content, but those who like fighting games will fall in love with this game. The criticism was perverse, and the game the guys speak badly because one follows the opinion of the other, without playing and analyzing. Expand

Gameplay itself I would give a 10/10 and would say it is one of the most fun Marvel games to date. As for story mode, there are some boring minion fights early on and sprinkled throughout, but aside from some cheesy lines, I thought it was a pretty fun basic story mode. Nothing to blow you away like Injustice had, but certainly better than SFV had. Netcode is good so online plays nicely.

This is my first MvC game, though I've played Mortal Kombat and Tekken before.
I'll start with good stuff. Gameplay is great, intuitive and the most noob-friendly across all the titles. You can get crazy combos just pressing the buttons approximately to what you wish to do. I've never been a hardcore fighting player and this game is definitely fun to play with friends. That's about it.
    Now the bad points.
    1) The story is honestly pretty weak and has nothing really cool about it. Tekken story wasn't amazing as well, but at least it had some really epic moments and the last fight was pumped up af. Nothing like that in MvC. The last boss is just ridiculously stupid.
2)The roster is not very big and has some really weird picks, like, Firebat. Wtf is Firebat? I don't even want to google it, he looks like some generic fire-demon and it's plainly lame.
3)Again. Where is full arcade mode with endings for every character? Tekken didn't have it and MvC doesn't have it as well. That's disappointing.
4)Character design is baaaad. Just bad. Half of the Capcom characters look really ugly and the rest are mediocre at best. Marvel characters are not really much better and have maybe a couple of good-looking ones, like Gamora, Captain Marvel and Hulk. After MK X and new Tekken it just hurts to look at them.
5)Poor optimisation. You have to do a rain dance just to set up your controllers, like, for Gods sake, this is a fighting game, full controller support is a first thing you should care about when porting it from consoles! And if your controller gets disconnected during the game you have to completely restart it, cause it won't work till you do. *Facepalm* The loadings are pretty long as well. Honestly, I spent half of the playthrough time looking on loading screens and that's annoying.
MvC just feels like an unfinished product and there is no way anyone should pay a full cost for it. Get it on sale with a 50% discount and maybe then it will be a good value for the price.
