It is hard to translate just how satisfying it feels to tear through a horde of heathens in Darktide as its thunderous soundtrack plays to words. The best way to do so seems to be simply saying that it is spot-on enough to surely please any fan of Warhammer or horde shooters. Darktide is a Primarch amongst Warhammer games, and it serves the corpse emperor admirably.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is exactly as we expected: a thoroughbred co-op action game, solid and very fun with friends, featuring a gameplay enriched by some new features compared to Vermintide, a structure focused on progression and stunning graphics that need some optimization to run smoothly.

A brilliant adaptation of the famous grimdark universe. The atmosphere is just great, the gameplay also feels very solid, even though one can feel a certain lack of polish here and there. You should really get three friends to play it with, by the way. Don’t expect to find a good random party online.

Warhammer 40,000 Darktide is a title that needs more content and some tweaking. Graphically it is excellent and the play of light and shadow, in particular, make some moments even memorable. However, the balance between the classes needs to be reviewed, as well as the in-game economy and the cost of aesthetic elements. In any case, when lived with a handful of connected players, Darktide manages to be appreciated at its best but in some hours the shadow of repetitiveness makes itself felt. As for the Warhammer 40,000 lore, the game is steeped in it, but an audible and non-influential background radiation remains. The launch on Game Pass can help support the experience in the short term, when the novelty effect is still hot but it is clear that the production will need worthy support from the developers to continue to entertain the public.

In terms of combat and atmosphere, Darktide is a triumph. A limited class system, missing endgame content and an overall lack of variety diminish what is, in fact, one of the best Warhammer 40K games ever made.

Warhammer 40,000 : Darktide offers a very pleasant and fun cooperative multiplayer experience. However, we hope that the bugs (especially on PC) will be solved as soon as possible.

One should expect more from the extremely rich Warhammer 40k lore. Darktide has some good ideas but commits the ultimate sin for a game: it becomes boring due to its extreme repetitiveness.

Good hardware andGreat game that is a lot of fun when you reach level 10 or higher. Before that, it's only comparable up to a point. Good hardware and cooperative play are essential though. Yes, optional microtransactions for skins.... mmhh okay, no need for that but there's no pay-to-win mechanic. And of course review bombers, for whatever reason, do review bombing as always. Tastes and mentalities are just different. If you liked Vermintide, you'll probably love this game too. That's my impression, anyway. Expand

The game is awesome, graphics are great and although there is a problem with optimisation, if your right is on minimal required then you'll be able to play it on low without any issues (unless crash but I didn't have any since release and I have 100 hours).

Main aspect of game - killing hordes with melee and missiles is perfected. Can't quite explain the feeling but killing enemy with a box of grenades thrown has that "Ommphh" to it :D

If you don't care that there are COSMETICS shop in the game then there is not really much you can say against the game.

For 40$ you have a full game for around 150 hours of gameplay that will get updates (right now there is no end game but it will change in a couple of updates :) ).

I'll change my rating to 10 when Fat Shark adds end game and some more weapons to have fun.

Just like Vermintide only there's a 50% chance that when you finish a mission that you'll be disconnected or receive an error and lose all progress.

worst optimization ever. You can crash beacuse of putting one item on a equipment slot, can crash if you go to quickly while the game isworst optimization ever. You can crash beacuse of putting one item on a equipment slot, can crash if you go to quickly while the game is starting, can crash in game beacuse yes, can crash in a raid beacuse of the frame drop, the frame drop itself is so brutal that i cannot even imagine a raid without two or three. Horribly classic gameplay with poor rewards and a ridicolous large progression. Expand

Simply put, this game sucks. It's worse than Vermintide II, and that game was already significantly worse than Left 4 Dead 2.

The game runs terribly. Constant FPS drops and performance issues that the game doesn't look anywhere near good enough to justify. The game averages a crash every 2 hours no matter how much the settings are adjusted.

The game itself isn't unfun, but again, it's worse than Vermintide II and the gameplay is essentially the same. Heavily melee-focused combat with weird dodging and blocking that don't seem to take when they should. The game's enemies are poorly balanced and are just obnoxious to play against. The levels are boring, lifeless, and ugly.

Legitimately, the only redeeming thing about this game is that some of the voice interactions between the different kinds of characters can be funny. That's it. This is an early access game that is years away from being even decent, let alone good, and it's still going to be filled with grindy, exploitative microtransaction nonsense that bogs down the good bits even more.

Take the $40 you could spend on this game and buy four copies of Left 4 Dead 2 to play with three of your friends. It runs better, it's cheaper, it wasn't designed by monkeys, and you can mod it to have more fun on it.
