The content of Wrath Classic is still great and has held up over time really well. However, the many issues and bugs of the launch have dulled the experience, particularly for players on very high-population servers or players who were hoping to join friends already on high-population servers. I’m hopeful that as we move through phase one and into phase two Blizzard will continue to polish things up and get everything righted. However, their history of solid Classic launches has been a bit tarnished with this one.
A nostalgic return to the best WOW's expansion. With a few changes to relive this classic, it's a placer returning to Rasganorte to fight against Lich King and his undead armies.
OK, noticed that all the zero reviews are complaining about how instead of male female toggle, it is body type 1 and 2 toggle.
Does really impact the game during character creation to see a 1 and 2 ?? It was a stupid move by blizzard, but has zero impact on the quality of the game.
Dragonflight is great BTW.
Overall pretty good. It's annoying for some classes that we're playing on the "end" patch for wrath, but I understand why they chose it.
Lack of GMs is a big minus Re: other reviews. Who are all these guys parroting? Why do they almost all mention the "racist segregation" of the faction system? Coordinating reviews like this is weird, especially when your talking point is that braindead.
I'm thoroughly enjoying it. There are still some bugs that have existed since og Wrath, but I suppose that's to be expected.
Planning on raiding all the way to the end.
Reviewing the game after playing for a while, my feeling about this game is that it's like a half-finished product. Compared to the Wrath of the lich king I remember, WOTLK Classic doesn't give me any excitement.
Of course, compared to TBC Classic, the content of the game has indeed changed. I can get to level 80 and I can get cooler mounts. But that lacks meaning to me, what I really want is to be able to experience the feeling of going back in time.
As for the adventure process, with the help of a lot of WOTLK Gold, it is no longer difficult. Yes, I bought some WOTLK Classic Gold at MMOWTS and then some high tier items at the auction house. This process has been easy and enjoyable for me.
Yeah it's still Wrath of the Lich King, but the lack of support makes it literally worse than private servers.
There is absolute zero, and I don't take that lightly. ABSOLUTELY Z E R O support! There are no game masters, tickets take weeks to respond and bots are absolutely everywhere.
It's ridiculous, it should be criminal to host a game this unmoderated.
Better than anything retail what came out after MoP. But I hate almost every single change devs made. If they wanted to experiment this hard they should just make 2 versions at once. One absolutely truthful to original based on the last patch and one reforged. At this point I consider blizzlike pservers superior... No RDF? Terrible LFG? Heroic +? Messing with original ilvl in raids? What even is this. I skipped Vanilla classic and TBC classic because Wotlk used to be the first one that was casual friendly enough, welcomming to masses with QoL improvements but stil truthful to OG WoW feeling. It pleased everyone, not just typiccal MMO basemant dweller. Difficulty was on spot for average gamer who takes it for what it is - just a game to kill time and have fun and not second job. Wotlk was the first version of WoW which did not need any changes, yet they went all in with them.
3 points because wrath was a good expansion in 2008 and was certainly a lot better than the trash we received for the last couple of years. Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands, just yikes.
Then why only 3 points?
Because wrath is playable since 2008. We have 2022. See the problem?
If you want to play wrath, you could do so since 2008. It never disappeared, only the talent system changed.
So I see Classic for what it is. Another version of this outdated game out of Blizzard's greed for money and as someone else of the critics already mentioned, because retail is a dumbster fire and will most likely continue to be a dumpster fire with Dragonflights.
Classic is here, because it is a desperate attempt to keep players.
I also agree on the racist faction system in wow. I never really liked the way how the devs force us to use such outdated mindsets in order to choose a faction. However I don't see them change that unfortunately, at least not in the classic versions. We're talking about Activision Blizzard after all. They are not really known for being open minded to put it nicely.
