It cost me $4 on PSN, and the price is spectacular for such an excellent game. I was expecting this game to have aged badly considering it is 12 years old, but it didn't disappoint. I played it for the first time in 2014 and loved every second of it. The only negative is how short it is, but I'm not disappointed in the slightest, considering I have 5 more Splinter Cell games to play. Here here! Expand

    - missing cut scene dialogue
    - saved game errors with no saving

Remastering of the classic that launched a long-standing franchise is great, but this version simply has too many bugs for such an old game that it taints the experience.

For the sake of my sanity, I had to end the game early despite having two missions left because I feel like I would have a **** meltdown. The game design and gameplay is horrible, did they even have people to test this game? I'm amazed how Georgian soldiers managed to train their hearing better than a bat and their vision to the point that they can see through walls and alert the whole of Georgia that there is a "filthy American". Ubisoft didn't want to bank on the typical "Russian bad guy" so they looked south to their neighbour Georgia and went "close enough" and still tried portraying them as terrible bad guys. The story is the typical "bad dictator is in control of Eastern European country, calls America the bad guys, goes to war with America, Insert American hero here to save the day and we all live happily ever after".

They weren't joking when they said that Sam Fisher was out of the field for a long time because my **** god. How the **** did the CIA hire a person who takes 5 years to shoot one bullet accurately making gunfights so unfair where the Georgian Army can pump you full of led in the same spot with pinpoint precision whilst a trained CIA veteran can't shoot a lightbulb with a pistol and instead shoots around the lightbulb and by the time you hit it, you've dumped a whole magazine. The movement is weird and the ability of what you can and can't do is inconsistent. Tutorial showed me I can climb up pipes, etc. but when I came across one, it wouldn't let me grab one and what I thought would be grabbale would leave me pummeling to my death.

The game has issues as well, Autosaving is useless as it only autosaves at the start of every mission so if you really get into the level and are too focused on playing and die, back you go unless you quick save every 1 minute which on PS3 means pressing START, and then quicksave which disrupts the flow of the game rather than adding a checkpoint system or autosaving every now and then. The framerate was either bliss where it would run at what it felt like 60fps but when it came to some areas of the game, or into gunfights, framerates drop to the low 10s or 15s which makes it even more frustrating when you're trying to fight someone. The game would also freeze my PS3 which meant unplugging it from the socket, when loading the game I would get a black screen or when trying to play the first mission, the game would crash me back to the XMB.

The only positive I can say is the graphics look beautiful for a HD remake and when it does run at 60fps, it feels great. Safe to say this game is not worth a penny and would only play if you're that bored or a hardcore Splinter Cell fan, but even then I would stay away from this garbage game.

It’s extremely rough around the edges and the controls are as stiff as it gets. It’s insanely easy to get spotted and the game gives you a game over for it. Unless you are moving one millimeter per hour you will have to quick load every 30 seconds. Half-way through I thought I was heading for a nervous breakdown. I’m so glad I played Blacklist before this otherwise I would have given up on the entire series altogether. I’m definitely giving Pandora Tomorrow a miss, because it’s similar to this one. I might give Chaos Theory a fighting chance. The game deserves a 0/10, but I’m feeling generous. Expand
