Superb zombie-slaying combat and enjoyable motorcycle gameplay are integrated perfectly with a well-paced story. But the game’s major highlights are the terrifying zombie hordes which are unlike anything seen in a videogame so far.
For better or for worse, Day Gone exceeds expectations. Bend Studio focuses heavily on the plot of its latest work, sometimes even at the expense of the gameplay, forced to adapt to the narrative needs of the survival game. Despite this, Days gone is still a very unique experience, thanks to its extremely recognizable personality shining through.
Days Gone is a perfect example of how paid critics can destroy a games momentum after its launch. I too heard all the mediocre reviews for this game and was disappointed, because i wanted this game to work after i was intrigued with its gameplay trailer. But alas i gave it a go, it was only 15 bucks so it wouldn't be a total waste. And would you guess what? The game is a perfect 10/10 for me! The gameplay, the mechanics, the visuals, the sound, both music and environment as well as the game setting. All great aspects of Days Gone. I never once felt bored nor annoyed at any point in the 151 hours i put into it. And you'll put in a lot of hours with this one. Because it was made to catch your interest and then hook you for all you got. The biker protagonist and antagonist, the wildlife, the freakers and who can forget the horde. You will give up a lot of time, trying to figure out how to combat these large blobs of bone and flesh before you just go for it. There's nothing for me to say negatively about the game. The only negatives i can put out there is this. Stop relying on websites like this to tell you what is good and isn't. You'll be surprised how many games, that are out there, that have mid to poor reviews, that will give you a run for your money.
So Sony. I think its time you gave the people what they want and they want Days Gone 2.
Muy buen juego en lo personal me gusto bastante los viajes en moto donde solo ibas viendo el paisaje y la eliminación de ordas es bastante entretenida y desafiante
With jaw-dropping graphics, fantastic music, great gameplay, likeable characters - and terrifying hordes - it is hard to tell that Days Gone is Bend Studios first truly big-budget game. Even though the game is not as polished as the best first party games from Sony, it still might end up as one this year’s best single player experiences.
The game has weak shooting systems and some bad weapons, much like Red Dead Redemption II. But while the other games have been highly rated, Days Gone has had its legs cut out by the bugs.
Days Gone is a fine addition to the evergrowing list of first-party Sony exclusives. Does it have the shine and polish comparable to Naughty Dog's best works? No, but it delivers a dense and beautiful open world that proves that there's perhaps a little bit of elbow room left for zombies in gaming, even if we're not calling them that this time around.
Days Gone is a derivative but enjoyable action-adventure with a beautiful environment, using AI and physics to create exciting moments of procedural entertainment. But its familiar tale of mankind struggling to re-create society after the end of the world and its romantic through-line are haphazardly structured and under-written, and the characters are too busy calling each other sons of bitches and assholes to say or do anything moving, original or profound. This is a game of fun and fury – it’s thrilling at times, but it signifies nothing.
One of my favorite games. Just replayed it for the 3rd time and the attention to detail is only rivaled by RDR2/GTA5. Some will complain about the story, but hey not every story is perfect. Amazing graphics, music, combat system, skill tree, and so much more. The game provides a very realistic setting by needing to upgrade your bike/weapons, scavenge for supplies as well as resupply for items and ammo, and most importantly the hordes (groups of 25-~400 zombies sprinting and clamoring after you) which is something "The Last of Us" series always came up short on.
In retrospect, I was probably too harsh on Days Gone. Yeah it isn’t the 10/10 perfect masterpiece some of these idiots are claiming it is, but there are genuinely solid elements that make it tolerable. Fighting this games versions of the zombies was way more engaging than I remember it being. The story is still an absolute embarrassment, but if you are like me and mentally checked out from the plot then you’ll have a much better time. If they had cut out the awful dialogue, then could have very well had a solid formula on their hands.
Improved by many updates, "Days Gone" is a fun open-world zombie game from the makers of "Syphon Filter". A 40-hour adventure, it'll appeal to fans of "The Last of Us" and "Red Dead Redemption". The gameplay is more challenging than you'd expect. Especially tough are the horde nests that you must clear. While not on the level of Naughty Dog or Insomniac titles, "Days" is still an entertaining survival action game. I would rate it with a 7.8 out of 10.
An extremely mediocre game, promised a lot of enemies, as a result, hordes meet a couple of times throughout the game. Unnecessary complications in the form of fuel, a dead and boring open world
The game has a stunning quality at first glance, but over time, it becomes boring as the story progresses, unfortunately, the gameplay is a failed copy of the last of us.
SummarySet in the beautiful, volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest, Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game in which you assume the role of Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who would rather risk the dangers of the broken road than live in one of the “safe” wilderness encampments. The game takes place two yea...
