Androids, who look exactly like human beings, have replaced humans in most tasks: they are workers, babysitters, gardeners, nurses, teachers, clerks. The story of Detroit starts with an unexplained incident that begins to affect the Androids. Some disappear without any explanation, others have unexpected behaviors and strangely show signs of emotions. The rumors of “deviant” androids start spreading, but no one seems to know what’s really happening... [Quantic Dream] Expand

Quantic Dream surpasses everything it has done before with Detroit: Become Human. A huge script allows for a thrilling story to have multiple layers that, at the same time, deal with topics such as slavery, the human condition or the concept of identity. A real masterpiece of the genre.

[Detroit: Become Human] is a social revolution simulator, where most of your choices actually matter, the story and characters are engaging and moving and the amount of narrative content is incredibly massive.

What makes Detroit: Become Human a great game, though, is that even after going back through alternate narrative branches and winding down my play time, I’m still invested. The world that Quantic Dream gave me to explore is only a short leap from the one we’re living in now, and the ideas presented have left me contemplating the role AI could play in our lives sooner rather than later.

Detroit: Become Human is a testament to how far the genre of interactive narrative storytelling has come and, at the same time, how much further it can go. While it might still suffer from some annoying QTE moments and a few narrative speedbumps, it delivers on promises that many other games in this genre make yet fail to keep, especially in how the choices you make can lead to very different experiences down the line.

If you want to experience an incredibly atmospheric dystopia from three gripping, strongly influenced angles, then this is the place to be.

The game is a technological marvel but although David Cage’s storytelling has an ideal pace and the way the story branches out depending on your choices is praiseworthy, his writing is childishly naïve. His vision of Detroit is unconvincing from the ground up and all his characters are merely crude, threadbare archetypes, which made it impossible for me to suspend disbelief. What’s more, the game touches a sensitive problem of discrimination but doesn’t have the courage to take any stand, leaving us with a lukewarm tale about robots, told with clichés and truisms. Detroit: Become Human wants to move you. It wants to elicit an emotional response through its story. The thing is, it really doesn't. The flowchart is a nice inclusion and adds some variance, but when the narrative is as cringey and ham-fisted as it is you won't want to play through it multiple times.

Ignore the hate-reviews with a personal agenda against David Cage, there is no way in h*ll that this game is a 4/10. Not even Mighty Number 9Ignore the hate-reviews with a personal agenda against David Cage, there is no way in h*ll that this game is a 4/10. Not even Mighty Number 9 is a 4/10 lol. The story and writing in Detroit is good enough for a game (I loved it personally) and probably better than the story in 95% of all other games ever released, there are loads breathtaking situations and choices, probably the best graphics ever made (imagine the work that went into this), amazing music... This game would have a 85-88/100 MC score if it was reviewed fairly for what it is. Give it a chance and enjoy it with your family and friends, you will have a blast! Trust me. Expand

All choices do have real impact, more or less, there are more than one ending.
But there is something I don't like, it's that many story branch depends on your failure, and I guess most player won't really aim at that.

It offers three great distinct stories. I did wish there was an better way to get a good ending for kara's story, because the good ending requires one dick move. Overal I'm very impressed with this game, the art is beautiful and the soundtrack is amazing. The amazing part is the number of choices you can make. There are so many ways you can play this game, aldo sometimes I wish there was an middle option between a dick move and a morally good move. Expand

TLDR; Overall a pretty good game - definitely worth your time to play.

    Pro:
+Beautiful story telling with characters that grows on you. (similar to Joe / Ellie from Last of Us)
+Fantastic graphics, the environments look really good + good attention to even the tiny details.
    +Great musical score.
+Multiple branching paths and different outcomes based on your decisions means good replay value.
    +Voice acting quality is good.

    Con:
    - Gameplay isn't very innovative. Most of the time you will be scanning (via R2) for objects of interests to click on. Doing so may unlock additional choices in later interactions or progress the story objective. While nothing wrong with that (this is how this type of game works) some people might find it boring or tedious.
