All in all, Overwatch continues to feel unique regardless of how much time you spend with it, and despite the low number of available modes to participate in. I’m genuinely impressed by what Blizzard has managed to do here, and I think you will be too.

The best Hero shooter ever and the coolest competitive shooter of recent years is brought to us by a developer that has never even made a shooter before. Overwatch brings online fun for anybody, no matter how experienced or how old you are. This might be the game of the year.

It might not have the most exhaustive list of maps and modes, but it provides nearly endless opportunities for exhilarating, coordinated play. When you’re at the center of it, it feels like nothing else.

What’s incredible about Overwatch is how every single aspect of the game presented holds the same remarkably high level of detail and polish, and though the lack of progression systems and small selection of game modes may limit the experience for some in the long term, in the short to medium term, this game is nothing short of amazing.

A collection of firsts, but it carries itself with the confidence and proficiency of a veteran. It has plenty of room to grow and expand, but as our first step into this world, it's inviting, competitive, smartly designed, beautiful to look at, and fun to play. You can't ask for much more than that.

With its fun gameplay and an amazing charisma for standing out, Overwatch is the best candidate for the “best competitive FPS” title this year. Blizzard has done a gorgeous job working on this title, creating a shiny box full of a deep and interesting lore, an outstanding design and tons of fun.

Blizzard and their team seem to have struck gold with a perfect combination of class based, team-centric first person shooting with their latest entry in their storied career. They show that in an era of overpriced and overwrought online only first person shooters, Overwatch stands out above the fray, to deliver a meaningful, competitive experience sure to last for years to come.

Anyone who says this game doesn't have enough content simply hasn't given it a chance. After spending about ten hours trying out all of the champs, I can safely say that I have my work cut out for me. I expect to put in 200+ hours learning the ins-and-outs of each champ, plus champ synergy, before I feel ready for the competitive mode that is set to launch this summer. I'm pretty hard on games, and I can safely say this is been one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I have had in about a decade. Expand

This game is Very casual friendly solo or with friends, and great for pros who want to use advanced tactics and strategy. Anyone wanting a balanced-team-based multiplayer Tier1(AAA) title should do themselves a favor.

My one issue is $60 is a bit pricey for content offered as of 7-11-16, however that being said, another character, map and more skins are on the way.

Many people have put in more - because they've had fun playing it. Got hooked on the beta. If you haven't played the beta, that's probably the only reason you don't already have the full game. In all seriousness, it does something that no other shooter on console has done successfully - created a fun, truly team based, engaging, competitive game that has a high skill ceiling with a low barrier to entry and lovable characters. On the surface it is simple, but play it for a while and you'll understand why Overwatch exceeds the hype. Expand

Risen from the ashes of the failed ProjectOverwatch was the massive multiplayer game from Blizzard that took the gaming community by storm. Risen from the ashes of the failed Project Titan, the new Overwatch team picked up the pieces of Titan and used those to craft this awesome multiplayer experience. It's balanced, has a great artstyle and nice graphics, and most importantly, is a lot of fun. My only issue for this game is the unacceptable lootbox system, most likely courtesy of Activi$ion, the unfortunate parent company of Blizzard. Overall, though, Overwatch is a great multiplayer experience and one of the best games of 2016. Hopefully the Overwatch team fixes the issues that Titan had, and ships it this time. Or at least release a compiled playable version. Expand

The character diversity is good but gameplay doesn't innovate much from any other 12-men-in-a-box format.
Add the fact that there's no offline mode and it's looks like a very expensive proposition for a game with such a short lifespan.
If you can pick up a physical copy cheap, have a go for yourself but don't buy digital because you'll likely trade it in shortly afterwards.

Okay, the core gameplay is good, now how about some actual FREAKING CONTENT!?

There's no single player, only two modes of multiplayer, and micro-transactions to milk your poor chafed wallet even more. And to add insult to injury, it uses RNG loot boxes rather than letting buy what you want. And At $40 minimum, it becomes apparent that this is less a game and more like a mechanism to vacuum more filthy lucre from anyone foolish enough to play.

Not helping matters is how the actual gameplay itself has the depth of a dixie cup, and some characters are unforgivably broken i.e. Bastion, who's minigun spam shames even Legion from Titanfall 2. Spawn camping is a major issue, as the defending team can park themselves outside the attackers' front door for a savage ROFL stomping.

The feel of the game is alright I guess, but half the controller is under-utilized. The whole game just gets boring so fast; it's slow and quiet, and the weapons and attacks lack any impact or feedback. None of the heroes are satisfying to play, exacerbated by the stupidly long respawns and long walks back to the objective (god help you if you're playing one of the slower, tank-y characters). The fact that almost none of the attacks are hitscan is nice, but again, have all the impact of a nerf gun.

As for the characters themselves, while the artwork is very good, none of the characters move beyond broad stereotype. With no villains or villainous factions, can you really call these people heroes?

This game doesn't deserve even an eighth of the hype it received, and ignore the slavering hordes of fans who will accuse you hating the game for not being Team Fortress 2.
