Star Trek Bridge Crew won’t change the world, but it provides a stunning realization of the Star Trek franchise and brings with it an unparalleled level of immersion and VR fun. I can think of no other franchise that’s better suited to cooperative VR play than Star Trek, and Bridge Crew makes playing with strangers fun again. It also represents the ultimate in wish fulfillment.

The magic of Star Trek isn’t the ship, but in the crew, and Star Trek: Bridge Crew nails that mechanic perfectly. What might otherwise appear as a cold and stationary experience becomes amazing when played with friends. While the campaign isn’t as long as we were hoping, the ongoing voyages provide enough randomization to keep us busy. As I push the wobbly AI out of the airlock, allow me to heartily recommend Star Trek: Bridge Crew — it’s downright “fascinating”.

Bridge Crew transforms an ordinarily isolating technology into something irresistibly social: it's an anecdote generator par excellence, and a VR experience that handily overcomes its limitations as a game. [Aug 2017, p.119]

If you can find some like-minded friends to join your adventures fresh out of Starfleet, Star Trek: Bridge Crew makes for a great social experience. Those that opt for a more single player experience might find themselves missing out on the magic.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew brings a great VR experience, along with a fun multiplayer mode. However, its lack of variety and content and its tedious single player mode prevent us from recommending the game to everyone. Hardcore Star Trek fans may consider it an immediate purchase, while others should better wait for a price cut.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew feels like a promising first draft of a fantastic Trek simulator, but it only goes boldly for a few hours. After the novelty of finally sitting on a beautiful Federation starship bridge wears off and you’ve exhausted the handful of mission types, all that’s left is the goofy physical comedy of messing around with your friends or strangers in VR.

A good virtual reality experience, but a purchase is only advisable if you are a serious fan of star Trek. The game will require you to play buttons for hours. Of course, aboard a ship from the Star Trek universe.

This game however was right up my alley, I'm a trekkie since the 80s and this game is fantastic, not priced at silly money at launch. Its priced right with everything a in its right place, would have been better in the prime universe but then it would not tie in with the most recent films or the upcoming TV series. However DLC is an option. Recommend this game for single player as well as the better multiplayer. Expand

This is like a dream come true.
I´ve just spent three hours straight meeting other Star Trek fans, nerding out in this wonderful game.
If you love Star Trek, you have to play this.

Bridge Crew is quite good from a technical standpoint. Visuals and Sound are great and immersive.
Storytelling seems to be a bit lackluster, but that really doesn´t get in the way.
The highpoint of this game is clearly the community aspect, and i think it´s a good choice to give people room to talk to each other instead of listening just to the game.

Very intelligent game is a dream of my childhood to manage a star ship like these ones. It's easy to start and not very complicate to master but require some missions. Something different to others games, something new and only available with this interface. For me is a must if you have a VR and if your are a fan of sci-fy or Star Trek is going to be your best VR game. Expand

The immersion is unbelievable. The experience of interacting with people who you can see whilst they go about their roles is so mindblowing. If I point at someone, he or she sees me pointing at them. The body language cues are there, and the 3D sound means that you know where to look when someone speaks. The feeling of being part of a crew is so real and completely involving, it's hard to put into words how it moved me. The first time I put the headset on, I was blown away. It's the stuff of childhood dreams, and Ubisoft have done an amazing job of bringing it to the small screen headset world of VR.

I also find that the other players are usually pretty intelligent and have not seen many who ruin the game with childish behaviour. Almost all my experiences have been good, which is rare in online multiplayer. Maybe it's because the game attracts a more "mature" audience of TOS and TNG fans, or maybe it's because the feeling of immersion and the fact that you feel like you are face to face with your fellow players takes away the feeling of anonymity which makes many people feel like they can say anything. Really not sure, but 95% of players so far have been good, and that has been a mix of Trekkies and non-Trekkies.

I'm sure the game is better and more enjoyable if you're a Trekkie, but with an encouraging and welcoming crew, I've found that people who know nothing about Trek have been able to get into it right away too.

My only criticism is that this game needs more content. There is talk of new bridges and PvP gaming, but what it needs is a lot more elements for the Ongoing Voyages which the system can combine to create a new one. At the moment, the longevity just isn't there (although I'm still playing regularly having boyght it on launch day, so it's not awful either), so I truly hope they patch in more mission variety to keep the online community interested. I want to be playing this game for years to come!

The bridge of the starship and the control stationsI'm not far into the game, but I will say this: it makes me giddy as a kid on Christmas. The bridge of the starship and the control stations all look good. The strategy is real. The only thing that would make this better is to be able to explore a planet surface with a phaser and tricorder in hand. But that wouldn't be Bridge Crew, now would it? That would be Landing Party and a different game. My only complaint was the control configuration. Wasn't quite intuitive for me. But like the Borg, we adapted. Expand
