Mood, pathos, emotion, humor ... and helluva fights. This is a combination that makes Yakuza zero the one of the most entertaining game in the whole series. For lovers of Japan Y0 is a must-have. [Issue#272]

Yakuza 0 shows how unique Yakuza actually is. Drama and humor come together in a setting filled with violent street fights. We all know the concept, but Yakuza 0 takes it to perfection.

SEGA tops itself with Yakuza 0, a highlight of an already beloved franchise that manages to succeed in every single way.

Yakuza 0 is a terrific game, packed with a simple structure but extremely rich in content. The campaign tells a long, deep, violent story, with two charismatic characters and a whole lot of enemies to fight.

Yakuza 0 feels a bit like an anime that also happens to be an action/fighting game. The only problem is that the fighting feels dated, though the environmental options and multiple fighting styles to master help to spice things up a little. A genuinely entertaining and captivating story lurks in the seedy underworld of Tokyo, where a miniscule empty lot somehow sparks a massive conflict.

Even though the Yakuza series is more than 10 years old, Yakuza 0 feels like a fresh new start on PS4. The fact that the story takes place before Yakuza 1 makes Yakuza 0 the perfect starting point for new gamers. The game takes place in an incredible recreation of Japan near the end of its "Bubble Economy" and makes gamers feel as if they are in Japan during that time. The game manages to be both very serious and incredibly funny and, cherry on the cake, gives players a ton of things to do. Yakuza 0 is truly one of the better episodes of the series.

Yakuza 0 takes it back to where it all began, but a mildly interesting setting and story don’t quite make up for the game’s more tedious elements.

At times the game may seem a little slow however when it gets going, it booms. You can be sure when there's a cutscene **** about to go down, first 5 chapters alone and I am already loving it and very much into the game. Expand

If you were expecting a Japanese GTA, you're wrong. This is a complete original. Even if this isn't your type of game, you have to try it.

It differs a lot from your stereotypical Anime influenced Japanese games and followed a realistic art direction. It was enjoyable, fun and then story was quite interesting. I never played any of the other Yakuza games that followed despite hearing great things about them. Releasing almost always on the west at least a year after their Japanese release, the games followed the familiar but successful formula.

The series has a big cult following and once you try the game, you will understand the reasons. The series offers a small Japanese open world, brawling fighting mechanics, and quite the mixture of side quests that ranges from helping, tracking down and engaging NPCs in interesting conversations.

Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the first game and more than any other prequel out there, it does THE BEST to get you into the world of the story and establishes the characters in a very interesting way. The story is deep and interesting and is told in a very very well paced settings.

The game's score is nothing short of superb. Relying if rock and Japanese instruments, the game has a set of very interesting scores that keeps getting better.

I was pleased with the game, it took me a week to finish it and I never ever came close to the 100% completion mark, due to work, I couldn't spend more time.

SEGA does really produce the best outta Japan.

    Imrpescindible.

The story is incredibly amazing but it just starts very slow and the battle system gets very repetitive, just be patient and if you don't like it when you're already at chapter 5 or even chapter 4, the game is not for you but you'll miss out a lot of humor, drama and awesome boss battles. Yakuza has a lot to offer for its price. It will be an awesome movie if its not a game. It actually saddens me that I was not able to play the series on my PS2 or PS3. Expand
