Back 4 Blood is a great game when played with other people, truly evoking the spirit of Left 4 Dead for a new generation of gamers. This time there’s the incentive of a progression system to keep players coming back, although the Corruption Cards don’t always make those repeated playthroughs as unique as they should. For those wanting to play on their own, it would be best to wait until the game has been patched to include single player progress. Hopefully that shouldn’t be too much longer.

Back 4 Blood is the successor made and a perfect evolution of what Left 4 Dead in its day. It is true that it does not revolutionize, but it does improve its formula

We're back to the old cooperative mode of busting zombies like there is no tomorrow with Back 4 Blood, the heir to Left 4 Dead that keeps the essence of the franchise alive and incorporates new mechanics, but with lessons to be learned in the field of PvP.

While it never forges its own identity, or escapes the shadow of Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood provides a great cover act, that captures all of the original series’ magic.

Turtle Rock Studios has once again created a fantastic co-op shooter with Back 4 Blood. The game is good when playing solo, but amazing when playing with three friends. The gameplay, characters, and card system make the game dynamic and create another dimension for us to enjoy. These things are so great, making the cookie-cutter story and the repetitiveness of the environments just a bit more painful and unfortunately, these elements hold the game back.

A diamond in the rough, though one that's definitely worth playing in co-op. When you're on your own, however, the lacklustre AI and the inability to progress through the game will definitely put a damper on things...

With like-minded cleaners and a weekend spare, Back 4 Blood is a hoot. Lacklustre modes and a lack of identity dampen its long-term appeal.

I love being able to change my build with the card system, grab a gun and attachments I want, and then play MY way.

Level variety and mission objectives are generally way better than I expected. Great game, having a blast.

Gameplay is 8/10, deck building mechanic provides pretty good replayability. It was really surprising to find a lot of free content in game (player and guns skins mostly). PVP mode differs from L4D pretty much, but after a couple of hours you would like it. I'm still looking forward to adding in this game a classic PVP mode like it was in L4D. Honestly, I'm wondering why rating of this game here is so low, maybe those guys just didn't give this game a chance Expand

The graphics are good, better than most swarm shooters. The sound is decent.
But things are just not clicking for me. Gameplay is not satisfying. Shooting a zombie feels laggy, and damage is quite random. Shooting at a horde is just randomly shooting hoping it will do something.
The gore and red splash is so gratuitously it seems to be hiding missing details.
I tried enjoying it, I really did, but in the end, I launched another round of wwz.
Sorry, its just a more fun game.

The card system forces to choose cards at every stage, this was slightly faster in the beta, but somehow they managed to made it worse. Graphics are pretty good, movement and mouse are bad by default and you need to tweak some options to fix it, getting ammo and.. ¿coins? (yes, the game has a coin system along with the cards) feels pretty awkward because you need to stare directly at the item, this is because some attachments (and all weapons) are automatically mounted on picking, Also, weapon customization is pretty clumsy, having to spend coins in upgrades that do not clearly expose stats change.
All in all, I don't recommend paying it's current price for this game. If you want to try it get game pass trial (both pc and xbox), if you don't have it already.

    Solid Meh.

The Games way too hard on recruit mode, overwhelming enemies and it's insanely easy to just die.

i love hard games and always wished Left 4 Dead was harder but this game takes the cake you're thrown into a game with terrible AI who sometimes completely fail to kill even a single "Ridden" the game is a stain on the reputation of left 4 dead and definitely needed another year or two in development.

not to mention match making is broken, you can't continue run in match making.

Certain gun types like pistols, smg's and rifles need a big buff as they can't handle anything but common "Ridden"

avoid this game until it's £15 don't buy at full price like i did you will regret it.
