Feb 22, 2021If you missed this game on the previous consoles, now is the perfect time to buy as it contains everything plus RTX and more importantly, it is a fantastic story that draws you in and drives you on. If you are a fan of The X-Files or similar genre shows, material… I have no doubt you will enjoy this. An exceptional job from the whole team!
Feb 1, 2021Control: Ultimate Edition is the definitive version of Remedy's adventure. Bringing together the worlds Remedy has created under one roof and looking stunning while doing so, Remedy has done a fantastic job of upgrading and improving the experience in meaningful, additive ways, such as the use of the DualSense controller and Ray-Tracing. There isn't a universe more worth exploring and losing yourself in than the one in Control.
Feb 2, 2021Control: Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5 is a real treat. Gone are all the technical issues that plagued the game on the old generation of consoles: loading times are lightning fast, textures load instantly, and the game runs smooth as silk. Ray Tracing is also an impressive addition to what is already one of the best games of recent times.
CD-ActionOct 12, 2021My first experience with Control was underwhelming due to my base PS4 not being powerful enough to do this great game justice. Now I wish I waited for the next-gen version. The Ultimate Edition finally looks and runs as it should (however, if you want ray tracing, you’ll have to accept 30 FPS) and also offers two expansions that tie the story to Alan Wake. Jun 22, 2021Control is an amazing experience that is befitting of the next gen consoles. It has killer Ray Tracing features, unfortunately hampered by their implementation, and a rock solid performance mode which feels amazing. The truly twisted dystopian world of the FBC is one that will persist in player's memories for a long time with its strange otherworldly places, alongside its humanising story. Highly recommended to all PlayStation 5 owners looking for an action-adventure with some real depth and fun combat!
Feb 2, 2021On top of being a great game, with satisfying shooting mechanics and a universe that goes well beyond the main story, the next-gen version of Control Ultimate Edition is a visual showcase. It's a shame that early adopters of the original game can't benefit from this upgrade.
Feb 1, 2021Without being a graphical revolution, Control Ultimate Edition's Next Gen patch freshens up the game a bit and gives good reasons to discover Jesse's paranormal adventures on PS5 or Xbox Series. The quality of life and immersion improvements are welcome, but the focus should have been more on solving some of the original game technical problems.

Im not mad for shooters on console but this just hits the sweet spot. It has this sense of mystery all the way through. You never quite know what exactly is going on or why there's things going on. You need to explore your surroundings and watch videos you'll find and read the documents lying around to have an idea of whats happening. The game doesn't tell you much in how to do things. The map is useless and I just accidentally found out how to upgrade weapons.
Its a breath of fresh air but theres a problem. This game's story is like the build up to Christmas but when the day finally comes it doesn't meet the expectations. Your 9 years of age and your expecting a PS2 but you get the N64. Not a bad system but its no PS2.
You have to remember that this is a game first and a story second. There is a sense of atmosphere though and thats just as important and it is spooky. Sometimes terrifying. I felt so confused most of the time. Whats with the hotel? Why am I the director? Whats the hiss? Why am I here? Was I always the director? Is the gun the director? Am I asking the right questions?
The problem is that you have all these questions and you expect to get some answers but your just left hanging. The character you play as is just satisfied with the outcome. She now knows the answers to the why, what, how questions but Im left with 'Huh? What'. I dont know how to describe it.
I felt like this is the sequel to another game. They just expected you to know some of the lore already but what lore. This is a new IP. But it does leave me wanting more and I can't wait to play the next one.… Expand

The lighting and art styles are mesmerising, and the third person shooting, combined with a variety of telekinetic powers, make for some of the most fluid, fast-paced action sequences I’ve ever experience in gaming.
The game is quite challenging, as it follows a Dark Souls checkpoint-based progression system and lacks difficulty options (aside from assist options). Some sequences can feel frustratingly difficult and repetitive. Alongside this frustration is an obscure map design that makes navigation a chore.
The major downfall of this game is it’s storytelling. Whilst the lore of the supernatural world they have created is fascinating and well presented, the main character delivers countless inner-monologues that provide unnecessary expositions. These only serve to ruin the tension of the story and lead to countless eye-rolls. After trudging through Jesse Faden’s clumsy writing and delivery, hoping for an interesting endgame narrative reveal/twist, I was instead severely underwhelmed by its mediocrity.
Overall, a very enjoyable gameplay experience that shows off the fancy next-gen tech, however if you’re looking for a quality narrative experience, this isn’t it.… Expand
