Regardless of which is true — whether it's a legitimately awesome game, or simply one that looks like it because it's miles better than the execrable Full Frontal Assault — I can say this with certainty: if you're a fan of the Ratchet & Clank series (or even if you just want a good 3D platformer) you owe it to yourself to check it out.
It brings back the classic experience of the series, and except for not being as big as it used to be, this Ratchet & Clank has more strengths than weaknesses. A game any fan of the series should, at least, try.
Okay, this game is three years old at this point, and on an older system. But just got around to playing it, and it's great. Quest for Booty, not so much, but it came free with this game as a download and I still appreciated being able to play it. I feel like Insomiac took all the criticism against Quest for Booty to heart and dialed everything in this game up to 11. Great story, great gameplay variety, great final boss battle - my second favorite boss battle of all time in this series. My favorite being the third ratchet game, I believe, where you fight Dr. Nefarious for the first time. (Might have been the second game, those were quite a while ago.) If you've never played Into the Nexus before, I highly recommend it. Great gameplay and graphics still hold up in a world filled with Uncharted 4 and the like.
Even though it was a little shorter than I had hoped for, Ratchet & Clank: Nexus is still much longer than Quest for Booty and ties up the story of our heroes (and Quark) nicely. For now at least.
Yeah, it’s pretty short, but those are some good five hours that’ll remind you of why you fell in love with Ratchet and Clank in the first place. Its $30 / £20 price tag makes it a great incentive to pick it up, and it delivers what you’d expect from the series.
It’s a perfectly serviceable adventure that you’ll play through with few frustrations, but will likely have forgotten by the following morning. Ratchet and Clank’s story ends, then, not with a bang, but with a half-hearted shrug.
Best 30$ dollars I have ever spent on a game. It creates a whole new genre for space plat-former shooters. This is THE must-have. Even though its only 6 hours long it already strikes it sky high to the fun limit. I have never experienced such a brilliant game. This has always been one of my top favorite games. this definitely reminds me that no game could probably be a better hysterical space shooter. Insomniac definitely outdid themselves this time.
This was a really good way to end the PS3 phase of the franchise. I enjoyed it much and it's short meant I was not bored while playing it.
I really like that siblings dynamic And the themes from the other games returned with them.
Sadly the worst part of the game for me is the graphics, really good for PS3 game, but they doesn't run good at all. It run bad most of the battles and they're so much blooms in some of the maps that it's hard to see ,And it runs at 30 frames per second.
I enjoy the game and complete two and a Half times to get the Platinum trophy
Oh my god, ratchet and clank #100? If you played the first one, then you played them all, nothing new. Guess if you have kids they would think it's a new game, but if your an adult I would say go buy a real PS3 game or throw away your PS3 and buy a WiiU, because all of it's games are like this.
Eight hour game that has same graphics, gameplay, etc yet it takes up 8+ gigs. No reason for it, just go buy the cheapest ratchet and clank game that you can find, and all of a sudden you will have every ratchet and clank game that has been made. Nothing new since the first game. This game is boring to all except children and non gamers.
Say what you will about other Sony mascots like Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper, but at least they knew how to actually end. Ratchet and Clank:Nexus is just a reminder for why you shouldn't drag your series out to this level; a game insultingly short and uncreative compared to the other entries. The weapons have as much impact as looking at your enemies and aren't fun to use at all, the story's attempts to be frightening are laughable (I know it's a kids game but you can at least try), and of course, there's audio logs voice acted by whoever was around that are either Insomniac's lack of self awareness to how contrived the plot is or yodeling "What the hell is exposition, some kind of vegetable?!"
Supposedly this is the last game in the RaC series. If it is, I'm going to be even more depressed than I was playing this miserable kick to the ribs this game is to the series as a whole. It was so ready to end by A Crack In Time, but no, they had to drag it out to make three more games that were all painfully mediocre compared to the original trilogy, or even the Future trilogy. I felt like Conan the Barbarian watching his village burn down while playing this game; except instead of a village, it was the childhood memories I have for the original trilogy. If you must spend £25 on something, spend it on the Trilogy Collection for the PS3; even if there are some graphical oddities in it, it's much more worth your time than this boring, un-scary pile of cat waste.
SummaryRatchet and Clank are back. PlayStation's beloved duo returns with an original single-player adventure, an epilogue to the acclaimed Ratchet and Clank Future Series (Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty) that will remind fans why they fell in ...
