Swap This! is a great little puzzle game for any fans of the genre. It's not going to revolutionise the gaming scene but with four different game modes, multiple high scores to beat and the tiny price tag of £1.09 you very much get what you paid for with this one!
Of course, it's also "just" another match-4 title, and perhaps that's why the developers didn't feel like putting the price up to something more appropriate to the size of the game. Lucky us, then; because while Swap This! is by no means going to end up on anyone's favourite games of all time lists, it's bright, pleasant, and perfect for those times that you do want a quick burst of puzzle action. And all for the cost of candy bar.
All and all, this is just a simple puzzle game for some younger player to dive into and get an experience for the genre themselves. If you’re more of a puzzle veteran, I’d suggest possibly meeting up with a local archaeologist to discuss puzzles and leave this title to the youngsters.
Unfortunately, Swap This!, like most matching puzzle games, is exactly that: just a matching puzzle game. It looks good, it will satisfy your need for something fun and casual-friendly, and it carries a killer price... but don't expect something more out of it.
Swap This! is an adorably cute puzzler that’s quick to pick up but like all smartphone games won’t hold your attention for too long. At less than the price of a cup of coffee though you’ll have a hard time finding a game on the Switch that’s as charming or enjoyable for less.
Swap This! is an entertaining, simple and addictive puzzle game that fits the Nintendo Switch nicely enough for some short gaming sessions. It fares less well when played on a television screen and feels rather repetitive on the short-term but for what it is, Swap This! does not fail in its goal.
