Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance has a good real-time strategy core that is augmented by the mission design and the army management elements. The campaign features interesting situations and complex battles. The tactical pause makes it all accessible even for players who aren’t long-term fans of the RTS genre. The story and presentation do not match the game’s mechanics. Some secondary objectives and narrative choices are unclear until players actually interact with them. But Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance uses the franchise well and delivers engaging battles.
The unexpected complexity of Terminator Dark Fate Defiance proves to be a key element in restoring dignity to the saga from which it draws inspiration, traditionally unlucky in its video game adaptations. The tie-in proposed by Slitherine stands out as an engaging and challenging adventure, confronting us with a substantial challenge and presenting hordes of well-armored and equipped enemies. Despite some obvious flaws, the large-scale management phases and the ability to influence the progress of the game based on the choices made give the game a surprising strategic depth. It is a production which, despite being small in size, stands out for its almost role-playing structure, without forgetting, and indeed enhancing, its strategic roots. The complexity of the battles should not discourage newbies, considering the presence of the "Story Mode" difficulty, while fans of the saga and real-time strategy games should undoubtedly give this title a chance, certainly the best videogame transposition of the franchise in years to this part.
Fantastic game that captures the setting, scale, and scope of the lore. Awesome single player campaign with stratetic and tactical layers as well as persistent units you find, build up, and nurture across the campaign.
I had a great time with this game. It was difficult sometimes annoying, but it was able to hit that sweet spot for me. I really like the idea of mil sim game mixed with the science fiction. Definitely there are some issues that need to be patched. Related to game performence.
Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is a strange game that doesn’t seem like it would be all that fun at a cursory glance. Dig deeper, however, and you’ll find that all of its smaller systems mingle together in a way that brings about one of the more fun and unique real-time strategy games out there.
The war strategy from the world of terminators and machines that want to take over the world surpasses even the movies in some ways. On the other hand, it has ailments that spoil it all. Mainly The frustrating difficulty of the campaign will not please you.
Taking on the Dark Fate universe with ease, Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance offers a gritty, at times brutal, realistic RTS experience, with a standout campaign mode and wonderful immersion into the Terminator world. However, the skirmish and multiplayer modes are lacking the firepower to ignite a full resistance, coupled with some callous difficulty balancing. Even so, hope for humanity remains even in the darkest moments, and the future isn’t written yet, so let’s hope the developers can make their own fate by building on this excellent foundation.
Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is an RTS that tries its best to bring a vicious, dirty, gritty war between humans and machines to life. It delivers flashes of that promise in motion, but lets itself down with obnoxious missions designed around inconsistent rules. Couple that with a confused campaign structure and anemic multiplayer skirmishes, and this otherwise appealing idea tips into the better-left-unplayed pile.
The developers clearly want to convey a sense of surviving by the skin of your teeth... however, in pursuit of that goal, the game feels punishing and unfair.
The supply cost for unit upkeep feels excessive... especially given the available supplies are heavily limited... often barely being enough to sustain a paltry number of units. Add in that upgrades to your units increases their upkeep costs, and that you must expend supply for ammunition, fuel and to move around on the world map, and it distinctly feels as though you're being punished for making progress or advances... and that's just not a fun experience.
the AI moving really stupid and some the hell way that they can move but the way fast and better they not like jump out of the buiding or from the window in the strong defence house but no they use the main door to run (mean theyput they head into the enemy gun and i choice the good way to they move but they still choice the stupid way to use)
