Would we be happy to play another one of these down the line? A game that's essentially another level pack? Based on the evidence presented here, it would be nice to see what Siactro could accomplish with a slightly broader canvas, although goodness knows there are more than enough cautionary tales of ballooning scope hindering the smaller, simpler interactions that make a platformer fun in the first place. We'd certainly play another 'one of these', but we see potential for something more substantial, too — perhaps not a full three-course meal of a game, but a carefully crafted cocktail that expands on the super-charged rainbow-infused shot of platforming the two Torees currently on the Switch eShop offer. The best thing we can say about Toree 2 is that, as with its predecessor, we enjoyed every minute of our time with it.
I'm all for short games, and if a game really caught my attention I'd be more than happy to pay the equivalent of many coffees for an hour or two's play. My issue is when the game's so truncated in its brevity that it can't deliver on its promise. If Toree 2 is indeed a nostalgic love letter to the platformers of yesteryear, then the developers should have understood what made those titles cohesive, character-driven experiences. Toree 2's simply too limited and thin to deliver atmosphere, character, or a cohesive 3D platformer experience. As the saying goes: fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I'm not making the mistake of giving this developer the benefit of the doubt this time around.
Toree 2 is my Indie hit of the year. For a dollar you can't go wrong. With Bite-sized and Speedy action platforming multiple playable characters and new Christmas levels it easily deserves to a solid 10/10
I remember seeing this a month earlier at the eshop and i was really excited. i bought it the SECOND it released. It's even better than the first part. I really want some dlc levels for it just like for the past game.
I can't believe I only learned of this sequel a month after release! I loved the previous game and I love this one even more. I recommend repeating stages until you get a perfect run! It's too a short game otherwise; and, besides, it's such an aesthetically pleasing game to spend time
Such a fun game, well worth the $1 spent!! You can easily sink a handful of hours into this if you're trying to unlock everything. (There's even an extra unlockable character for this one, but I won't spoil it!) If you enjoyed Toree 3D, you're going to love Toree 2; it basically improves on everything of the original. The stages are fast paced with a lot of flow, the low poly graphics lean even more into the vaporwave/retrowave aesthetic, and the soundtrack is great. If there's any negative to speak of, it's that getting S rank for stages is pretty tough.
I hope the developer makes another entry, maybe with split screen couch co-op, similar to Sonic 2. Highly recommend having some fun with this title, though! :')
"The game is a step up from the original in almost every way. The final level isn’t quite as epic as in the original, but at least it has more of a conclusion. It won’t offer you any real difficulty to get through, but the S ranks will certainly challenge those who want one. Much like the original, gamers wanting a bite-sized old-school 3D platformer can’t go too far wrong with Toree 2 – especially for the asking price."

SummaryA bite-sized 3D Platformer sequel with more focus on the things people enjoyed in the first game like fast gameplay, flow focused levels and cute costumes (two this time).
