The game's excellent presentation goes wonderfully with its surprising amount of variety. The game might not be scary, but it is thought-provoking and unique, which makes it more than worth a look from narrative adventure fans.
Transient has many interesting qualities that make it stand out as an experience. Sadly, it feels a bit rushed and the gameplay never really moves past just being a vehicle for the narrative. When melding Lovecraft with cyberpunk, Transient focuses on having the former as the core of the story, while using the latter as its shell. It works surprisingly well for the most part, but left me wanting more cyberpunk on a thematic level. Overall, Transient is a title worth playing primarily for those looking for a Lovecraftian experience wrapped in a beautiful cyberpunk package.

Transient is an original take on Lovecraft’s mythology, enriched by cyberpunk influences and breathtaking scenarios. Sadly, in this puzzle-adventure game, npcs are too static and some puzzles are clunky.
Transient deserves recognition for seamlessly concocting a stunning blend of sci-fi and Lovecraftian horror, but it deserves more space to fully come to fruition than what it’s afforded here.
At its core, Transient is a decent game with some avoidable issues. The title has some extremely strong visual elements and powerful thematic ties to the genres it loves, and as such fans of cyberpunk and Lovecraftian horror will find things to enjoy here. However, its narrative feels quite sluggish and convoluted, lessening its overall impact.
Great atmosphere, fine visuals, decent voice over, good music. But these damn puzzles... Omg, the hacking puzzle is probably the worst thing I've ever experienced in a video game. The pipes linking in Bioshock 1 seems like a pure bliss after this. And don't even mention Human Revolution. Why couldn't they just make a linear story based on exploration or, I don't know, bring in some sort of melee combat or shooting mechanics. I mean, anything would be better than these half-assed puzzles!
SummaryH.P. Lovecraft meets Cyberpunk. Delve deep into a dystopian world and investigate what is happening to you and your friends in a domed city. Solve puzzles, hack systems and plug in to explore other dimensions. Discover a truth that might tear apart your sanity and question your very existence.
