With the Wii Remote controller turned sideways like an old-school controller, veterans and newcomers alike can run, jump and smash their way through hectic side-scrolling stages. Players shake the Wii Remote to help Wario take down his enemies, empty bags of treasure or cause earthquakes. Best of all, there are numerous stages each offering multiple missions to keep players coming back again and again to unlock everything, collect more coins or just improve their best times. 1. If you were around for the glory days of the NES and SNES or you simply disagree with the notion that all modern games need online play and 3D graphics, then Wario is the game for you.
  2. It really hits the sweet spot that few games do: it’s forgiving enough for people who like simple, easygoing games to finish, but challenging enough for completionists to work at for days, even weeks on end.
  3. The game sets out with a gorgeous anime/Saturday morning cartoon aesthetic that is as beautiful as it is fully realized.
  4. While not a technical marvel, it's a fun romp through five beautifully drawn continents full of peril.
  5. I can wholeheartedly recommend the full-price purchase of Wario Land: Shake It to only three groups of people: kids between 5-10 years old, die-hard fans of hand-drawn animation, and people who love "easy but smart" 2D platformers.
  6. A rather limp "WarioWare" is followed by a rather limp Wii Wario Land. Wazza's never looked better, but has rarely played so sensibly. Where's the attitude, you porker? [Nov 2008, p.52]

A pretty face only goes so far when there's no soul beneath the surface, and Shake It! is as hollow as they come.

This is easily my second favorite 2D Platformer. It falls right behind Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

I'd even go so far as to say that it is one of the most underrated games this generation along with games like Endless Ocean! Only thing bad about this game is that it only takes about 4-5 hours if you're just going through the single player without doing missions or collecting treasure which I recommend you do! Expand

This is the best "Wario Land" you'll ever play! Not only does it have me in it, but you get to shake the Wii Remote to shake enemies, objects, and most importantly: MONEY!!! The graphics are super cool too. Just look at my strong muscles! The story's OK, but who cares about that! Simply a must buy for the Wii! BUT IT OR ELSE!! Expand

The level challenges offered no draw for me, and I simply puttered on through the levels to the end of the story without wishing to strain myself unlocking all the extras, an admittedly common sentiment from me. I can't call it a bad game, but it's not a great one. Expand
