Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a game that looks at the entire first-person shooter genre, past and present, takes all the best ideas, and assembles them into what feels like the easiest to recommend shooter I have ever played. The only caveat to that recommendation is that some gamers will find themselves absolutely ignoring two thirds of what the game has to offer, and that makes me wonder if a different model of monetization would have been better suited for what feels like a collection of three different games.

Even if lacking the the trademark narrative pillar of the series, CoD: Black Ops 4 manages to deliver an impressive and content-filled package with a more tactical and grounded multiplayer, a way improved and rich Zombie mode and probably the best - and definitely the most polished - Battle Royale mode available today.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is one of the best multiplayer shooters of the year. Its new proposal and the Battle Royale mode make it a must of this generation.

In pruning the campaign from its suite of modes, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has discovered a renewed focus on the nuts and bolts of what most players demand from Activision's undying shooter series. Blackout is a superb addition, in which Treyarch improves upon the battle royale formula, ensuring the gamble in losing single-player ultimately pays off.

With three strong and well-designed online experiences, Black Ops 4 is a fantastic and addictive experience for young players. Its own Battle Royale called Black Out turns out to be better than people expected and could establish a new direction for this popular genre. A must-play for Call of Duty long time fans.

Deprived of its usual solo campaign, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 looks more like a patchwork than a whole, tight experience. Nonetheless, its multiple game modes, among which the first AAA Battle Royale, have enough to offer.

Tired and lacking ideas, this is the most disappointing CoD in years that follows, not leads. [Christmas 2018, p.72]

Buy this call of duty, it's the best since 2009 and that's saying something, ignore the haters just because they could be bad at the game.

First COD since Modern Warfare 2 that im actually enjoying. Multiplayer is interesting, Blackout (BR) is great and the zombies are not bad too.

Black Ops 4 has some awesome Gameplay! Although it lacks one of the most meaningful parts of Black Ops, the Singleplayer campaign. The FanboysBlack Ops 4 has some awesome Gameplay! Although it lacks one of the most meaningful parts of Black Ops, the Singleplayer campaign. The Fanboys will always say that this game is great, but it is not. The Gameplay is pretty awesome from Black Ops 4. But the endless spawn trapping ruined the game for me. Activision, why the hell did you replace the Singleplayer campaign with a F*CKING Battle Royale mode? It ruined the game so bad! It is fun with friends, but the awful spawn trapping on literally everyone ruins the game.

Verdict: 5/10. The lack of the campaign already costs 3 points, and with what they replaced it, costs one. The endless spawn trapping also costs 1 point. Only get it on sale for like 15 bucks, not more.

You either spend $200 to get all the tiers or you miss out due to it being too hard to progress through them. It’s a $100 game in Australia and the fact that there’s even the option to spend another $200 on lazy cosmetic tiers is appalling.

Remember back in the good old days when we used to get a CoD and 4 maps packs, all up costing around $150AUD. Now you have the $100AUD base game, $200+AUD worth of tiers, the eventual $20AUD map packs, and god now what else they’ll charge for.

Ok so I cant stand those who are giving this game scores it doesn't even deserve. This game is a recycled piece of garbage campaign is scrapedOk so I cant stand those who are giving this game scores it doesn't even deserve. This game is a recycled piece of garbage campaign is scraped not even making it worth its retail price and is instead replaced with a battle royale that easily could've been part of multiplayer. The zombies and multiplayer is almost completely recycled as for zombies 4 out out of the 7 maps are remakes just because they didnt want to make anything new and for multiplayer the maps from bo1 and all specialist have returned with only 3 new ones with all weapons and create a class weapons just recycled similar guns from bo3. If you want to look on the bright side the gunplay and paced fighting can be very fun but as for other black ops games I'd rather play those. the worst part is the black ops pass those who play for zombies, multiplayer or both are forced to pay 50 dollars just to get 1 zombie map or 4 multiplayer maps. last but not least the microtransactions are horrendous so many new forms of cosmetics are added which makes getting desired items almost impossible along with the fact that dlc weapons are involved is even worse. My final verdict is that Black ops 4 is a recycled money grabbing paywall riddled horrible experience of a game and I just hope treyarch gets their act together with their next installment. Dont waste your time on this garbage Expand

Treyarch should just pack it in, Either they are targeting certain people for whatever reason or this is the worst COD ever made.

    Blackout
Treyarch should just pack it in, Either they are targeting certain people for whatever reason or this is the worst COD ever made.

Blackout - UNPLAYABLE. Hit detection is either not working or if you're ''lucky'' it will be nothing but hit markers while you die from a few bullets from the people you are trying to shoot. You can sneak up on people and shoot them in the back and it will still be the same, they actually turn around and kill you while you are forced to reload due to using all your bullets ''shooting'' them and either getting zero hit markers or unlimited hit markers the result is the same either way.

Multiplayer has the exact same problems as Blackout, sure it's been the same since BO2 anyway so no change there, but the one mode that always redeemed the game and never failed to deliver now finally has failed to deliver and that is Zombies.
Zombies mode is broken as anytime you get near a high round the game crashes. Not to mention it's been 5 months and still only one new map added to the game with the ''Black ops pass'' They took out main staples of the game like JUG for example and added in a new story line which no one cares about (and they continue to make the ''DLC'' maps come out for it) instead of continuing on the storyline that people have followed over 5 games now. Not even a new map for the original storyline, Mob of the Dead ''remastered'' and 5 ''remastered'' come these scumbags are clearing milking the consumer for every last penny/cent they can get, it's disgusting and has gotten to the point where i don't even know if i want to continue playing computer games anymore.

It's been 5 months now since the game came out and the only ''updates'' they have done is too find news ways to get even more money from people with ''cosmetics'' (micro transactions). Corporate gaming is trash and always wiil be trash. Every new ''generation'' of consoles the gaming quality takes a massive nose dive in every department except graphics. This will be the last console generation for me (been here since the SNES days)
