Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won't be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town's most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!

    Features:

    * Turn your overgrown field into a lively farm! Raise animals, grow crops, start an orchard, craft useful machines, and more! You'll have plenty of space to create the farm of your dreams.

    * Improve your skills over time. As you make your way from a struggling greenhorn to a master farmer, you'll level up in 5 different areas: farming, mining, combat, fishing, and foraging. As you progress, you'll learn new cooking and crafting recipes, unlock new areas to explore, and customize your skills by choosing from a variety of professions.

    * Become part of the local community. With over 30 unique characters living in Stardew Valley, you won't have a problem finding new friends! Each person has their own daily schedule, birthday, unique mini-cutscenes, and new things to say throughout the week and year. As you make friends with them, they will open up to you, ask you for help with their personal troubles, or tell you their secrets! Take part in seasonal festivals such as the luau, haunted maze, and feast of the winter star.

    * Explore a vast, mysterious cave. As you travel deeper underground, you'll encounter new and dangerous monsters, powerful weapons, new environments, valuable gemstones, raw materials for crafting and upgrading tools, and mysteries to be uncovered.

    * Breathe new life into the valley. Since JojaMart opened, the old way of life in Stardew Valley has changed. Much of the town's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair. * Court and marry a partner to share your life on the farm with. There are 10 available bachelors and bachelorettes to woo, each with unique character progression cutscenes. Once married, your partner will live on the farm with you. Who knows, maybe you'll have kids and start a family?

This game is $14.99, but it should be $30, or even $40. The game is vast, detailed and nearly impeccable in every way, with perhaps only the social element lagging behind the rest. It is every bit as feature packed as the AAA rated games that it is similar to, such as Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. I'll be playing Stardew Valley for a long time to come, and I genuinely hope that this review inspires you to pick it up and do the same, because this is one of the finest examples of passionate, empowered independent video game making I've ever come across.

Stardew Valley is an unique game. At the first time, it's looks like a pixelated Harvest Moon, but is more complicated than that. Is a reality that you don't want to escape.

Stardew Valley takes its inspirations and runs away with them into not just an amazing game, but undoubtedly one of the best of the year. There is no shortage of engrossing gameplay, and it has an adorable personality. The Xbox One version has been ported over with very few issues and I see myself emerging only grudgingly from my farm work over the holiday season.

While the game isn't perfect -- side activities can be dull and there are a few frustrating bugs -- Stardew Valley will no doubt remain a staple in my rotation for months to come. It's a game that fully succeeds in its premise and for that it is worthy of your time.

Unfortunately, Xbox One version does suffer from some slight stuttering in larger areas like the farm, but developer Chucklefish confirms that there is a planned update to fix it within the coming weeks. Otherwise, Stardew Valley for consoles is still the same great game we first played on PC, and comes just as highly recommended.

Essential for lapsed fans of Harvest Moon and anyone looking to just get away from it all. [Feb 2017, p.88]

I found this game to be very surprising refreshing. I've never played Harvest Moon, and wasn't too sure to expect going into this game, but II found this game to be very surprising refreshing. I've never played Harvest Moon, and wasn't too sure to expect going into this game, but I figured for $15 I would give it a go because it looked fun and had some good comments from other players who played it on PC. The first time I played it I actually was only planning to play it for maybe an hour just to try it out, and ended up stuck in it for 6. I think I spent about 50 hours in about two weeks on this game. It's very addictive, colorful, and I love the characters when you get them to open up and build relationships with them. The game has a few minor stutters and occasionally issues with the cursor feature on the Xbox One, but nothing that ruins the game. The colorful Super Nintendo like graphics, casual game play, rewarding selling system, variety of activities to engage in, and beautiful music (especially the fall music) make this game easy to enjoy and lose a lot of time in. The crops and animals can get a tad repetitive, but there is always something to do or work towards in the game. Expand

I'm just under a year into the Xbox One version of the game, and I've smiled the whole way through. So, you inherit a farm from your sadly deceased grandfather and decide to move there. From there, you're free to do whatever you want! You can ignore everybody and focus exclusively on your crops, you can go fishing to earn all your money, you can even go underground to mine and slay monsters. But, my favorite part of the game is the townsfolk. I won't go into specifics to avoid spoiling anything for anyone who hasn't had a chance to play yet, but each character is given care and attention. So, yeah. Expand

At the beginning,As someone who spent many hours playing Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, I really enjoyed my time spent in Stardew Valley. At the beginning, you have 5 different locations to choose from ‒I picked up Hill Top map‒ and, from there on, my journey started.

The game lets you start off with your own house, tools required for your labor and money to spend on seeds. It will gradually teach you how everything works, even though most gamers will just skip right through the tutorial information and focus on the actual gameplay.

Experienced gamers will probably find the beginning little bit slow and boring, when day after day you feel like you are doing nothing but pickaxing rocks, axing trees and slashing grass; but the further you progress in the game, the more enticing it becomes ‒crafting mechanics, such as sprinklers for your soil or better weapons. Yes! You will at one point get your hands on a sword and from there on progress in the game's "dungeon crawl" style mechanic, where you will go into a cave, fight different monsters ‒everything from a zombie to a normal bat‒ and find ladders to advance further down into the cave to come across newer materials to use for your crafting.

Also, you can take a break from being a dungeon explorer and a farmer by exploring the game's sims like mechanics, where you can talk to people, like a blacksmith who will let you upgrade your tools and weapons, or you can crack open geodes for a small amount of money, or even attend the seasonal festivals they have, like the Flower Dance festival, Stardew Valley Fair or the Feast of the Winterstar and many many more... There is a library where you can go and return artifacts you have found for small rewards. There is also a relationship meter for each NPC in the town that you can build up, find someone to marry and eventually have a kid with.

Both sound design and music are fine. I did enjoy the music, it was nice for what it was and fitted with the game's style and design, not something i would look up on Youtube to re-listen except for maybe one or two tracks that did stand out to me, but it is a nice and relaxing background tunes for those countless hours in the night spent in front of the TV screen getting hooked on farming, interacting with the town's NPCs or going to their seasonal festivals which there is 2 festivals for each season and, of course, killing monsters in the dungeon.

I found myself plenty of times being more addicted to Stardew Valley than i have been in years playing video games. It is really a relaxing fun piece of gem that really have done a great job at making the three completely different gameplay elements that is farming, dungeon crawling and relationship building with the towns npcs feel unique and good. I strongly recommend it for gamers out there wanting something with a feel good quality and where everything you do is building up to something but at your own pace.

This is my first review. I hope you, the reader, enjoyed my review and found it helpful.

Continue to have a good day, my fellow gamer.

(PS4 got a fix in 2 days) for a fix to the game breaking crashes, I still end my Stardew gaming time with a crash. I have yet to turn the game off of my own volition, but become too disappointed when I have a good day and then the whole thing is blown to hell when the game crashes trying to save at the end of the day. Seriously, this is F##king STUPID!!

This is a crazy fun game, THAT DOES NOTHING BUT CRASH!!! I have lost sooo much progress on crashes when I sleep and save, to just a random crash when I am walking around. I want to play the game so much, but I know that I will loose all my progress. It is absolutely outrageous that this game was released in the unstable condition that it is in. And what is worse, this has been in issue since the game released and there has not been a hot fix yet. The developer, or whoever is responsible, should be staying up through the night fixing this bug to get a hot fix out the the public. But to my knowledge, a patch is "in the works with no release date". FIX IT NOW or don't sell games!!!
