The performances here, gathered mostly at campsight jam sessions, under the various meet-and-pick tents all over Felts Park in Galax, or on the stages there, are just jaw dropping.
Even filmgoers with little taste for these arcane sounds may enjoy the doc, if only for the chance to spend an hour and a half in the company of so many prodigies who’ve put down their phones in the service of taking up catgut.

Fantastic film brimming with humility, authenticity and what we hope for in humanity. I laughed, cried, and ran to buy a guitar after watching this utterly joyful documentary.

A film for the ages-one that will be as relevant in fifty years as it is today and one that all ages will enjoy. From the toe tapping music to the heartfelt stories, this film will make you laugh, cry and inspire you to live life to fullest! If you aren’t a fan of Old Time and Bluegrass music, you will be by the end of Fiddlin’.

An undeniably heartfelt if overlong affair, especially for the uninitiated.
Loved this film! Made me wish I had stuck with guitar lessons. Not only were the musicians outstanding, especially the young kids, but the cinematography was gorgeous, the sound quality was superb and it has a beautiful score in addition to all the great pickin and fiddlin’!

I've now seen this film twice and look forward to watching it again! It's an emotional and moving account of Appalachian musicians who play with pure joy. The young kids steal the show and will steal your heart as well! It's rare to want to see a film more than once, but this is one I could see over and over. Highly recommend!
