This singularly gripping work, timely for obvious reasons, is eloquent testimony to American political life today.
After watching Four Hours At The Capitol, the January 6 attack feels more like a horror film, one that ends with the monster still at large.

Should be required viewing for citizens who claim to care about our democracy and electoral process.

Four Hours at the Capitol might be unlikely to change many hearts or minds, but watching the evidence months removed from the heat of the moment and the chaos that unfolded live on TV makes it difficult to entertain arguments that the media has overblown or misrepresented those images.
The anger of the protesters that day was clear but in this documentary they were a variety of calm, smug and deluded. It was the police and politicians who were the angry ones.
The underlying collective testimony furnished by Four Hours at the Capitol is that the age of Trump has not yet ended – and the true day of reckoning in the United States is still to come.
The film’s focus remains largely on the crowd — not the forces that pull and push at it, contort its shape, and determine its movement through space and history, but rather, the crowd as mere spectacle, divorced from all the things that paved its path to the Capitol.
A documentary that doesn’t have the stomach to tell the story of what happened on Jan. 6 explicitly, and to express the real threat to American democracy that that day represents, is of no use to anybody.
Propaganda at its extreme. No facts only opinions expressed. Blatant lies portrayed claiming the people broke into the building. Videos have been released (Not shown in this propaganda piece) showing the police letting the people in every single level of security except where Babbitt was shot and killed. Videos in this propaganda piece are purposely edited to remove every instance of people asking for peaceful protest (Including Trump). With the endless hours of video being hidden from the public the small portions (Not included in this propaganda piece) revealed to the public demonstrate a peaceful protest. This movie is a pure propaganda piece, which I should have assumed when HBO popped up at the very start. An actual shame this is identified as a documentary.

After watching this, I'm stuck on the word insurrection. This was a group of idiot trespassers did not kill anyone, and in fact, one of them was killed. Other video of the trespassers shows them milling about sort of aimlessly. Please add this to the pile of fake news: Russia Collusion, Jussie Smollet, the "successful" withdrawal from Afghanistan, Covington, Charlottesville "good people on both sides" and so forth and so on.

Unabashed and blatantly slanted presentation. You might just say it's flat-out propaganda. It's as bad as that Obama piece they pushed out a while back. And lacking all the subtlety.
