Robin Hood is no classic, but if it sometimes seems like it’s trying to be “Baz Luhrmann’s Robin Hood,” more power to it. The movie is a diverting live-wire lark — one that, for my money, gets closer to the spirit of what Robin Hood is about than the logy 1991 Kevin Costner version or the dismal 2010 Russell Crowe version.
great movie, the funny thing is that everyone of the bad reviews that it got. Sounded like everyone was saying the same thing, which make me wonder if that same person giving the review, or just a bunch of copy & pasting going on. Does anyone of them or him or her, know how CGI works. Plot holes huh, so if a movie makes you think to much it makes the movie bad. Remake do not always match, the new story line is about different type of robin hood. I mean look at blade runner, you guys rated the movie so high, yet it was slow and boring there was to much of no acting going on. I mean the whole movie felt like I was in national national geographic movie or something.
Egerton is miscast. He and Hewson have nary a spark in their love scenes. Dornan overplays his hand. Foxx belts out nearly every line as if he’s trying to be heard above a parade of fire engines on a Fourth of July parade
If nothing else, this accidentally hilarious, goofy train wreck of an origin story most definitely has the courage of its convictions. Alas, the film isn’t smart enough to recognize that its convictions are dumb, and it doesn’t have the goods to back them up in the first place.
Mendelsohn's villain is boringly one-note, Eve Hewson's Marion uses an incongruous Yank accent and always looks as though she's just stepped out of the makeup trailer, F. Murray Abraham swans around in fancy cardinal's vestments looking sinister and Foxx seems pissed off that he's not somewhere, perhaps anywhere, else. As for Egerton, he's a boy doing a man's job.
This is definitely better than the last Robin Hood movie done by Ridley Scott. The storyline is well done incorporating the crusades into the movie. The downfall for me was the fact that they shouldn't have introduced Maid Marian into the movie or have Robin have another love interest. It does have incredible special effects.
Robin hood 2018 is messy, poorly conceived film that is as watchable as it is forgettable. The cast do ok with the simplistic script but it never challenges the audience to do more than yawn through to the end.
So overall it felt quite average but what really I disliked was that some of the moments in the movie felt so cringeworthy or corny. Also Marrion (sorry I dunno correct spelling) felt like from 21st century not from whatever century it was meant there. And the dialogue was often a bit dumb and even though I like Taron Egerton, I found his acting with smirks and stuff here a bit like corny. Overall watchable but my expectations for Robin Hood movie werent met
A new Robin Hood Movie. I wanted to give the Film a fair chance but there isn't much you can like about the Movie. The Story is nothing new and everybody basically knows it already. The cast has some Talented actors but they cannot use there potential. There is of course a Love Triangle. Romantic in the most cringiest boring and dumbest way possible. And there is no real chemistry between the Characters. The scenes between the Action set pieces are pretty boring ,but if seen worse. The only thing i liked are some of the Action Scenes and the bow Skill Of Taron Egerton. But its better to watch the Training clipes than the Movie. The Editing is also awkward. It uses fast camera movement and Slow-mo but just does not fell right. The overall Setting would be interesting if it wouldnt be a Robin hood movie, it just does not fit for the Character. The Film kind of fells it wants to be a Guy Ritchie Film without understanding how to use his Style Correct, and what make his Movies entertaining and re-watchable. I was bored for 80% of the whole Run-time. Its nothing more than an uncreative Blockbuster that has no own ideas and Takes every ideas from better Movies.
