It's an extraordinary feat of animation, possibly the most lovingly conceived, uncompromisingly executed and totally successful animated film since "The Lion King."
DreamWorks SKG really put a huge effort on making this movie possible, the wilderness of the U.S is well presented here, the story of it is thrilling and exciting, the music soundtrack matches the movie perfectly since Bryan Adams and Hans Zimmer were involved.
I watched this as a kid in DVD formats and I'm still watching it as a young man.
It was a huge part of my childhood, I recommend everyone to watch it.
One of the best movies I have ever watched. The soundtrack and animation are beautiful. The drawings come alive on the screen and the story is an emotional rollercoaster. A masterpiece of a movie. Must watch.
Popcorn-buyers, beware: This is no "Shrek," with raucous adult humor sailing over the heads of wee ones. This is "Sesame Street"-level, with white hats, black hats and simple moral messages.
Rather exciting, rendered in a bright sunset palette and a mixture of expressive, boldly drawn traditional animation and fluid computer-generated imagery.
I don’t understand why some people are hating on this movie. Although there is little dialogue, you get a break from the annoyingly scripted, cheesy, movies and you get to watch for yourself this story and journey unfold. The simple narration is because it is in fact a children’s movie people. This movie is heart wrenching and for some reason people don’t like that. If you want to watch a dull movie with a predictable plot just go watch the Lego movie or something. This movie is a classic and not to mention the soundtrack is amazing. I think some people just don’t like Bryan Adams. Those who appreciate music can agree that regardless of Bryan, you can’t deny that Hans Zimmer did an amazing job with the musical choreography that makes this story come alive. Children also get a brief history lesson on the American Indian (Native American) War. While it is very stereotypical, they at least get a peak into what another culture might look like. This movie is emotional, intense, and heartfelt. I watched it many times as a kid and would still watch it now.
Had the film been a short/30-1 hour with no dialogue it could have been amazing but the pacing, like of character, and presentation issues hold it back from being spectacular. That being said some great animation and nice show don’t tell moments help bring you into the world of the film making it enjoyable to watch at least once. This isn’t one of my favorite 2-D animated films from Dreamworks but it is still entertaining enjoyable enough to watch at least once. It’s a rent. Some may like/love it while others may not. As for me its alright not a bad film but at the same time nothing spectacular.
impeccable production as is already the custom of DreamWorks. Unfortunately the script has several problems, such as conveniences and one-dimensional antangonist, it leaves something to be desired, but the message is good
