Suitable Fresh is wild and weird, but it has something to say beneath all the kinks and mind games.
In a crowded field of dour horror, it’s a relief to find something so knowingly silly.

Honestly, this may be the only horror film that invokes Red Shoe Diaries and Cthulhu equally.
While neither particularly profound nor earth-shatteringly scary, Suitable Flesh is better than passable grisly horror fun in a very specific tradition.
Despite its bumpy execution and general thinness, Suitable Flesh boasts a playfulness that feels ripe for slicing up and serving anew.
The spirit of Stuart Gordon is alive and well in Suitable Flesh, with Joe Lynch picking up the baton and delivering both an ode to his inspiration and a riotous horror comedy in its own right.
Despite a very game lead performance from Heather Graham, and some amusing 90s-style erotic thriller mannerisms – voile curtains blowing on a hot summer night while a sex scene happens to a wafting sax accompaniment – this left me not knowing quite where to look.
