With so many dumb Hollywood movies getting 10s I feel this one ACTUALLY deserves it. Knock-out performance by Andrea Riseborough and easily the best thing Mark Maron's ever done, this is one of the best films of the year. Yes, the ending's convenient but you really won't mind because it does that thing films used to do - entertain while telling a real human story - 10 stars

A stirring character study ... To Leslie recalls the grit of 1970s American indie cinema at its most indelible.
The ending of this film does not entirely measure up to the standard of tough realism set in the rest of the drama, but what a great performance from Riseborough.
What this film celebrates more than anything, is the fact that it’s never too late to make a change.
Andrea Riseborough gives a guttural and reliably first-rate performance as the titular Leslie in Michael Morris’ painfully earnest feature debut about the limits of control.
An award-worthy performance from the reliably exceptional Andrea Riseborough elevates an affecting portrait of the road to recovery that fails to tread new ground.
What an insanely beautiful, honest and powerful movie. Same goes for the performance by Andrea Riseborough. One of the best I've ever seen. More than oscar-worthy. Masterful. Magnificent. Truthful. Brave.. Just do yourself a favor and watch this masterpiece. Hope it gets all the awards and attention it deserves!

Fui assistir "To Leslie" determinado a perpetuar todas as críticas em relação a indicação supressa de Andrea Riseborough ao Oscar, que acarretou ao esnobe de grandes atuações de atrizes negras na temporada, como Danielle Deadwyler em "Till" e Viola Davis em "The Woman King".
Bom, terminei o filme chorando com a emocionante cena final. Então acredito que falhei no meu objetivo.
Andrea Riseborough entrega, de verdade, uma das melhores atuações dos últimos anos. Não de todos os tempos como dizem (quantos filmes Kate Winslet assistiu na vida, hein?), mas temos em "To Leslie" uma performance da protagonista com nuances e realismo impressionantes. Todo o elenco fez um trabalho excelente. Allison Janney continua com o dom de se sobressair nos pequenos segundos de cena em que aparece.
Continua sendo um grande problema a facilidade em que o Oscar substituí atores e atrizes negras em suas listas de indicados, mas, convenhamos que o problema não está em Andrea Riseborough e no seu pequeno, mas ótimo, filme independente.

A standard film with a very good central performance. The screenplay is very basic and full of clichés. The romance subplot is not that convincing, but you gotta appreciate Marc Maron's try to make his character's motivations believable.
