True Confession is skillfully played and paced, keyed up to the pitch of the dizziest haywire skit.
A valiant comedy, it stands on a level with such blissfully remembered items as I Met Him in Paris and Nothing Sacred... for they are all of a piece -- witty, clever and hugely amazing shows.
The characters of the husband and wife are too simplified and their comic turns too forced, but the general giddiness and Barrymore keep the picture going.
Carole Lombard's final film for Paramount was a charming screwball comedy that was entertaining, if lightweight.
