The film's solid grounding in friendship and comic teamwork carries the day. Unpregnant becomes more affecting as it goes along thanks to the sincere, committed, and mostly unaffected lead performances by Richardson and Ferreira.
Bolstered by winning, real performances from its leads, Unpregnant will delight as much as it stings, a sterling reminder of how many stories about this very subject are still demanding to be told.

Excellent spin on the road trip genre, lifted immensely by the acting from the two leads. I found the discussion of abortion to be refreshing and done so in a way that did not feel forced, instead empowering to women everywhere. Ultimately a very entertaining and touching movie that I would most definitely recommend :)

It’s as comforting as a prescription drug commercial, which could send some parents into a conniption. But Unpregnant advocates loudest for allowing young women the space to make their own choices — and that they have friends, longtime or newfound, willing to help when they stumble.
Its driving force may seem topical, but the story’s heart is timeless: the harmony between longtime friends, and Veronica and Bailey throw themselves into even the most fraught situations with giddy enthusiasm.
It’s an uneven ride, rocky in places, but it’s one that’s also unquestionably worthwhile, a progressive, witty and timely way of reminding many of us how antiquated women’s healthcare still is while also alerting a younger audience that there’s more to the teen movie than Netflix.
Largely fueled by Richardson and Ferreira’s charisma and chemistry, Unpregnant is an amiable if uneven ride.
The forced hijinks, sub-John Hughes emotional tropes, and Screenwriting 101 conventions — which include what can only be called Chekhov’s Taser — cut crassly against the grain of a subject that is fundamentally personal and inherently political.
Unpregnant is a great story that plucks the heartstrings in all the right places. It's funny, heart-warming, frustrating and confusing all at the same time. The road trip trope is not a new one, but it's well executed here by an entertaining cast of diverse characters. One of the few movies I can call a teen flick while also being worthwhile. People may give it negative reviews because they're blinded by their own ideals, but don't let them fool you. Unpregnant is a wise, well-thought-out story that covers all sides of the conversation, and wakens viewers to the importance of available abortion care without shoving an agenda down their throats.

The comedy version of Never Rarely Sometimes Always.
And obviously when I say this, I need you to understand that that is a crucial difference, because the two films couldn't be more different. It's just that I compare them because this is a much more relaxed version of a similar theme.
It's not as fun as it thinks it is, but the two lead actresses, primarily Haley Lu Richardson, do just enough to make the experience more enjoyable.
